Chapter 29

“Oh my God, Brock!” I screamed as my orgasm washed over me in epic waves. This man always brought me pleasure indescribable. Every. Single. Time. Two more thrusts and he crested with me. He always made sure to take care of me before letting himself go and I loved him for that.

“Fuck, baby it gets better every time,” he said, kissing my neck and cheek. “I will never get enough of you, angel.” I was so glad because I’d never have enough of him either. We laid in each other’s arms, gently stroking one another’s passion flushed skin. He rolled to the side and disposed of the condom, pulling me to him as he settled back. “I got accepted to UCLA.”

“Oh honey that’s great! Did you get into the program you wanted?” My baby was so smart and I was so proud of him. He’d chosen to become an environmental engineer. He said he wanted to do that before he met me but now he really wanted to do it so he could make the planet better for our kids. No, now don’t flip out. We aren’t getting married. At least not yet. I know it’s coming down the line but I’m happy the way things are right now.

“I sure did,” he grinned, kissing my temple. Grabbing my ass with both hands, he hauled me on top of him until I was straddling him. “I don’t want to spend another day without you, angel.” His expression was so serious. “I’ve been doing some thinking. I know we can both stay on our campuses but we would still be an hour apart. I can’t imagine not seeing your beautiful face every day and I don’t want to. I want to go to sleep at night with you in my arms and wake up to you every morning for the rest of my life.” Oh God. Was he about to propose? He must have read my mind because that sexy smile appeared.

“I’m not asking you to marry me yet, babe. Let’s get through college first.” I giggled, peppering his chest with kisses. “But I do want to spend every minute I can with you, now and for always. What do you say about us moving in together? We can find a place halfway between for both of us.”

“Are you kidding?? Yes!” I was so excited! I secretly hoped he would ask because I felt the same way about him. “I don’t want to be without you either, sugar. But,” I said with a mischievous grin, “you get to tell Mama.” He laughed and hugged me tight.

“Deal.” And of course it was sealed with a blistering hot kiss…and more amazing sex. (End flashback).

I was a nervous wreck! Amber’s whole family from Louisiana was coming in for her graduation. I would be meeting her JuJu for the first time. The woman meant a lot to Amber. What if she doesn’t like me? Would Amber leave me? God! I can’t do this. I think I’m having a panic attack for the first time in my life.

“Come on baby brother! We are going to be late!” Calista yelled from downstairs. We were having a big get together at Aaron’s parents’ lake house after graduation so both our families could get to know one another. It was going to be a huge affair because the Gundersens were coming. Believe me when I say they give new meaning to the term big ass family. Dani and her mom along with the DeAngelo crew would be there as well. Rounding everyone out would be Ryder and his parents. I would be spending my last day as a high school senior celebrating this chapter of my life with the people who meant the most to me. I bounded downstairs and rushed into the car.

“Hey sugar!” I’d know that southern drawl anywhere. My angel was waiting for me. I ran to her and scooped her up in my arms, twirling her around as I kissed her. Ryder and Thyra were wrapped up in each other as was Magnus and Miranda. Dani stood with Roman while Aaron and Aksel lounged against the wall no doubt nursing hangovers. Dani and Aksel were still barely speaking to one another. I believe it was more Dani than Aks. She had taken it very hard over his rejection and it didn’t look like she was going to forgive him anytime soon.

“OMG Ty!” Dani squealed, jumping up and down. “Your cousins invited me to spend a few weeks in Norway with them! How awesome would that be?”

“You should totally go, Dani,” Thyra said, giggling. “My family adores you. The boys would make sure you had a great time.” Dani blushed and scrunched her nose. I watched Aksel for a reaction and sure enough, I wasn’t disappointed. He looked down at the ground, his jaw clenched so tight I was sure he’d break a tooth. I kissed Amber and walked over to him, leaning against the wall beside him.

“You know, man if you’d pull your head out of your ass and properly apologize to Dani she’d put you out of your misery.”

“Fuck off, Brock,” he growled. “I’ve tried to talk to her for months and she will not talk to me.”

“Dude you gave her a half assed apology. Would you want to talk to you if you were in her shoes? You were pretty harsh, man. She deserves a genuine effort.” I sighed and crossed my arms over my chest. “I almost missed out on the best thing to ever happen to me, Aksel. I was so dead set against having a relationship because of my asshole parents that I was willing to let Amber go. I was so afraid I’d end up like them. If I had let my fear win, she’d be with someone else and I’d still be here. Alone. Is that what you really want?”
