Chapter 5 - Five Dates!

Elizabeth's POV:

Sir, still I can't say yes." I raised my head and looked at him.

"I get it. But don't you think rejecting me without giving a proper chance is kinda unfair?" He asked.

"Unfair? No. I don't think so. Why giving chance when I will say no every time?" I queried.

"Why will you say no every time?" He looked at me with serious expression.

"I will never say yes to a person like you. This is why." It was my reply.

"A person like me? What's wrong with me?" His eyes widened for a second.

"As long as I know, I am handsome and adored by women, and I am quite wealthy. Besides, I am not womanizer or don't have bad habits like smoking or taking drugs." Archer frowned.

"Exactly! Because you are perfect. Why would a perfect person like you want someone like me?" I argued.

"Perfect? No matter how good a person is, no one is perfect. It's a fact. And I am also not perfect. What do you mean by someone like you? What's wrong with you now?" He quizzed.

"You are my boss! You are the heir of a multibillion fortune. You are handsome, wealthy, good-natured. Wheres I am an employee of your company. Do you even know how my life has been? I am not anywhere near you. We are from totally different worlds. I am someone who doesn’t belong in your world and you are someone whose world is far far away from me." I took a deep breath after saying this.

"I don't know about you, Elizabeth. But I want to know about you. They way you interest me, no one had ever. Can't we just think of each other as a person? Not as boss or employee?" Archer suggested.

"I interest you, but what's the duration of this interest? Seven days? One month? Six months or highest one year. I would be left behind and you will move on after your interest for me states. I don't want anything like that." I asserted.

The crease of his forehead deepened.

"You are judging me alone based on the hypothesis you made. You are not even listening to me." He spoke.

"Let me take you on five dates. If still you don't think positive, we will be done." He proposed.

It was a good idea to stop his capriciousness. I would never say yes to him anyway. And I would do something that he wouldn’t even go on a second date with me.

"Okay, five dates. No more. But you have to keep your promise, if you back away and can't complete five dates, then you will leave you alone." I opined.

"We'll see, gorgeous. But these five dates, you can't miss any of them." He mentioned.

"I won't." I promised smirking inside.

I won't miss any of them. Rather you will be the one who won't come for the second date.

"And does this Sunday sound good to you? I would like to take you to a dinner date." He said.

Suddenly, a thought clicked my head. If I were to get rid of him, then why wait and delay? I must get out of his game as soon as possible.

"Sunday? Why Sunday? Let's go this Saturday if you are free." I suggested.

If it were upto me, I would go on a date with him now and experience him the most horrible date in the history of mankind.

"A few hours ago you were so adamant on not giving me any chance. And now the way you are hurrying for the date-" He doubted.

"Mmm. Something sounds fishy. What are you planning?" He raised a brow at me.

"He he he he. Why would I plan anything? I just thought that isn't it better to quicken the process? Why delaying? Besides, if I like the date with you, it's possible that Sunday we may go on another date?" I planted a sugary smile on my lips.

He stared at me for a few seconds. Then nodded.

"Okay, as you wish."

After the lunch, I thought that we would return to the company. But I noticed that the car wasn’t heading to the company.

"Sir, where are we going now?" I asked.

"We are going to visit a land. I am thinking of buying it."

"Oh. Another industry?" I questioned. Yesterday, we visited a land for industry and today another.

"No, it's not for any industry." He replied without elaborating.

I didn’t ask farther. Wherever he went, it had nothing to do with me.

Our car drove a bit far away out of the town and pulled into before a big fallow land. After we got out, we saw four or five people were already standing there, waiting for Mr. Johnson.

They were owners of the land. Mr. Johnson discussed many things with them and both parties seem to agree with their terms.

At last, they shook hands before returning.

As we got inside the car, suddenly Mr. Johnson asked me, "How's the land, Mr. Sanders?"

I was looking at the sceneries outside the window. When I heard his question, I spoke, "Sir, you are asking me?"

"Yeah, is there anyone besides you in the car?" Mr. Johnson queried in a mocking tone.

"No, actually I was distracted. That's why." I said.

"Okay. Now I have your attention, tell me what do you think about the land?" He asked lowering the temperature of the car.

"Sir, I think it's good. Huge land."

He nodded. I checked the time on my watch. It was already time to return home.

I didn’t understand why he was driving his car for so long? He could bring his driver.

"Sir, it's almost time to go. Our office hour has ended." I mentioned.

"Already?" He asked.

"Yes, Sir."

"So, where do you live?" He wanted to know.

"Why?" I asked back.

"Because tonight I will come to your house and kill you." He smirked at me, licking his lower lip.

His eyes darkened suddenly.

From a handsome heartthrob, he now resembled a evil killer. What was wrong with him? Was he mentally unstable or psychotic?

Did I agree to go on a date with a psycho?

"W-what?" I gulped, clutching my purse defensively.

He looked intensely at me, his eyes bore into mine.

Then burst into a fit of laughter. I was stunned. My heart was beating fast, I saw my face in the mirror. It paled a bit.

"Oh. Elizabeth, you are so fun. I was just joking." He said smiling at me. He was looking like the handsome prince again.

But I couldn’t help scowling at him. I felt angry. He frightened me for real.

I pouted rolling my eyes at him.

"Tell me your address, I will drop you." He said.

"It's not needed, Sir. I can go myself. Just drop me at the nearest bus stoppage." I spoke.

"Will you tell me your address?" He inquired again.

"East fortune Valley, road no 3." I replied. He sped up his car.

His car came to a halt in front of my apartment building about an hour later. It was a residential area of middle class people, most of the people here were middle income salary men and bought apartments with their pension money.

Our building was a bit old. He got out of the car and then opened the car door for me.

"Thank you for the drive." I thanked him in a polite voice.

"Welcome. Do you live with your family?"

I shook my head. "No, I live alone."

"Okay, then go home."

"Then I will see you tomorrow, Sir. Have a safe journey back to your place." Saying, I turned and got inside the building gate.

Getting inside my small two-room apartment, I settled my body on the couch. I looked inside my small refrigerator and remembered that I ran out of my groceries.

Leftover pasta, a carton of milk and some carrots were left in the refrigerator. I hardly ordered food from outside as it cost more.

I made a mistake of believing a someone once and I paid the price not only with my life, another life also suffered because of me. There's no way I was going to do the same mistake twice.

Men are not believable, they are traitors. And rich men are the worsts. The new drama with my boss needed to be stopped as soon as possible.

I made a plan what to do to make him lose interest in me. Without wasting any minute, I got into working. I was so looking forward to this date.
