Chapter 18

Graduation was over and they were celebrating as usual at the MacGregor mansion. The entire gym had shown up to watch Lyra and Cherry walk across the stage. The whole school stood and clapped when Leo strolled slowly across the stage to accept his diploma. His near death experience had changed him. He was no longer the cocky arrogant prick he was when Lyra first met him. He was more subdued, kinder and more respectful to women. They were good changes but there was a shadow behind his blue eyes that hadn’t been there before he was stabbed.

She had two days before Mateo would return to Chicago. It was killing her inside because she truly loved having her uncle around and would miss him like crazy. She sat cradled in Dante’s lap, lazily running her fingers through his hair. “I’m going to go crazy without Tio, D,” she said softly. He nuzzled her neck gently, planting a tender kiss on her pulse point.

“I know, sweetheart. I will miss that crazy bastard as well,” he chuckled. “Maybe after the championship bouts in a few months we can go visit Chicago.” She bolted upright in his lap.

“Are you serious??” she squealed. Dante laughed and kissed her deeply.

“Of course I’m serious, silly girl. I’ve never been to America and I’d love to see your home.” Throwing her arms around his neck, she smothered his face in sloppy kisses.

“I” kiss, “Love” kiss, “You” big kiss.

“Ai joya stop smothering the poor guy,” Mateo chuckled behind her. She giggled and hugged Dante tightly. Mateo took a seat next to the happy couple, a wistful look on his face. “So my baby girl is a high school graduate, grown from a beautiful baby to a beautiful woman.” Lyra blushed, dipping her chin down.

“Thanks Tio. I love you too,” she giggled. “Why do you look so sad though?” Mateo sighed and leaned back in his chair. “If you’re worried I won’t need you anymore, that’s just crazy talk. I will always need you.” Mateo smiled and shook his head.

“No, baby girl, I know you will. Not even this young upstart can take my place in your heart.” He reached over with a grin and slapped Dante on the shoulder. “I been thinking about making some changes in my life. You know, keep the moss from growing under my feet.” Lyra cocked her head to one side. Mara slipped up behind her brother. Dante realized they must want to speak about some private family matter. As he went to move Lyra, Mara laid a hand on his shoulder.

“No, you stay Dante. You are family now.”

“What kind of changes, Tio?” Lyra questioned.

“You know I love my gym. Built it from the ground up and have put a lot of talented fighters through those doors. But after being here with you and your mother the last month, I’ve realized it’s not the most important thing in my life.” His aquamarine eyes, a Salvador family trait, misted over. “You are. You girls are my family. I need to be where you are and if it’s here, then so be it.”

“What are you saying, Tio?” He couldn’t possibly be saying what she hoped he was saying.

“I’m selling the gym to Patrick and Savi and moving here, joya.” Lyra’s chin trembled but she lost the battle to her tears of joy before it ever began. She launched herself off Dante’s lap and into her uncle’s arms, crushing his large frame to hers. She cried into his broad shoulders, so happy she couldn’t stop. Mateo held her gently, rocking her much as he’d done when she was a baby, whispering endearments in his native Portuguese.

“That’s amazing, Mateo,” Dante grinned. Dante looked up from Lyra’s back and winked.

“That’s just the beginning, cabrito. I bought your uncle’s gym this morning. He’s moving solely into managing the Maxwell Group and I’m taking over the training with Martin.” Dante’s jaw dropped.

“No fucking way!” He looked at Lyra, ran his hands through his hair and huffed back in his seat. “We’re going to need a bigger gym.” Mateo threw his dark head back and laughed.

“I’ve got to head back to the States to take care of a few things and I’ll be back for good. When I get back, let’s talk about your future as a business partner.” Dante’s eyes somehow got wider. Mateo laughed again and rose from his seat, taking his sister’s hand. “I have big plans for you, cabrito.” With a sly grin, he sauntered off talking in low tones with Mara. Lyra slumped back onto Dante’s lap, suddenly exhausted from all the excitement.

“Lyra, my love,” he said softly in her ear.

“Mm,” she hummed.

“What does cabrito mean?” She giggled.

“It means kid. It also means he likes you if he gave you a nickname.”

“Oh yeah? What would you call me?” He kissed along her jaw to her ear, lightly nipping the lobe and making her shiver against him.

Meu coração,” she purred. Wiggling in his lap, she felt his erection growing under her ass. He groaned into her ear, snaking his hand under the hem of her dress.

“What does it mean?” His skilled fingers found her soaked center, lightly stroking through the damp material of her panties. She gasped, grinding her ass into his lap when he flicked her clit with his thumb.

“Take me upstairs and I’ll show you, my love.” He swept her up in his arms and carried her bridal style into the house, bounding up the stairs to his room. Slamming and locking the door, he strode purposefully to the bed and laid her down gently. Her dress slid up easily and soon she was bare before him wearing nothing but her panties. He stood for a moment, taking in her luscious body.

“You are the most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen, Lyra. I still can’t believe you’re all mine.” His words caused her heart to skip a beat. He slid her panties down her hips, revealing her glistening lower lips just waiting for him. “Spread those gorgeous legs for me, sweetheart.” His voice had taken on that sexy growly tone she loved, the one that always got her juices flowing. She let her knees fall to the sides, showing him how much he affected her. Licking his lips, he dove between her thighs. The first touch of his tongue as he dragged it through her wet slit almost had her ready to come. It didn’t take him long before she detonated off the bed in a mind numbing orgasm, his name falling from her lips like a prayer.

She didn’t notice his clothes had mysteriously disappeared. She lost all thought capability as he plunged his hard cock deep inside her. Just as the throws of that amazing orgasm were subsiding, he thrust into her causing aftershocks. She couldn’t form any words so she simply let her body do the talking. She was pliant and willing in his arms, giving pleasure as ferociously as she took it. Finally reaching climax together, they felt their bond grow stronger.

“I’m never letting you go, love,” he whispered in her ear. The thought of spending forever with this beautiful man still buried deep inside her brought a tender smile to her face. “I’m so glad you decided to stay.”

“Me too, meu coração, my heart.”
