"Shit with your Mom?" He continues. "That's just the tip of it.” I say swiping at my face. I’m getting that tingle in my nose that tells me I’m about to cry. I’ve never had a guy interested in my personal life before. “Actually that's the start of it all.” Now the tears were no longer threatening to over flow they were overflowing. “Everything else I'll eventually get over." I look trying to hide the fact that I was crying. "Do you want to talk about it?" He asks so kindly. Did I really want to talk about this with him? But how could I resist when he was taking the time to listen. No guy had ever done that for me. "My Mom kicked me out for good just as school ended in June.” I paused. “But not because I was a problem child or anything just that I was too much of a constant reminder of her past.” “What do you mean?” “Well before Grandpa Jones got sick our lives were pretty normal. At least I thought they were.” “Anyways I spent a lot of time with my Grandpa and he spent a lot of time with us. We were one big family back then.” “Anyway Grandpa Jones got sick and it hit my Mom really hard.” I took a deep breath. "My Mom turned to drinking. She basically gave up on life..."

sunshinebennybear: First, I would like to address the elephant in the room. The author forgets her own character's names. She mixed up Liam for Jace, Harri for Maiya, and Freya for Clary. I love The Mortal Instruments as much as the next fangirl, but I find myself unforgiving about this. Throughout the story there ...

Jean Tryon: As a beta, I found this story outstanding!! Plot, grammar, phraseology, etc Rachel gives us it all. She takes the story into the future from where due South ends. She is an exacting and thoughtful author.

RodRaglin: Sounds like an interesting story, LesAnne. Here are some things you might want to consider when you revise this draft."Show don't tell." Alex Reltin: This is a great story! I love how well you go into detail and emotions of Capri, and Mel. You have amazing dialogue and overall it's just a thrill to read! The only critique I could find is that some of the paragraphs should be separated. 263Adder: Okay so I adore this story. I only knocked one star off plot for historical inaccuracies because I'm a bit of a stickler for that. Lydia Sherrer: I first read The Speaker almost a decade ago when I first discovered author Sandra Leigh. I loved it then, and I still love it now. It is a simple, easy read, yet deep in meaning and rich in storyline. I do not know what kind of research or prior knowledge Leigh has of First Nation tribes, but sh...
