CHAPTER 31

Violet

Almost 3 weeks later

“You okay there Violet?” Jake asked.

“Uh, yeah... I think so.” I replied, my voice strained.

I was literally hanging upside down, my body wrapped with the strips of silk that dangled from the gym trapeze class ceiling. My legs and arms tangled in this web of perplexity and embarrassment. I probably looked like a stiff pretzel trying to get through this thing.

I glanced over at Jake. His firm slender body hanging easily parallel above the floor. His lean arms holding his body up effortlessly. He looked serene and comfortable. Like this was bringing him peace. Jeez, this was only bringing me confusion and strain.

“This is amazing right?” He grinned. “Don’t you feel so free!”

I nodded with a taut smile. Trying to grip the silk strips with my weak arms. We should have done ice skating instead, dammit!

This was our sixth date. Jake and I had been dating for the last two weeks. We did a lot in those weeks. From our first official hiking date to bike rides to laser tags. Almost every date was adrenaline pumping activities. Even though the only pumping activity I looked forward to didn’t happen as yet. I tried my best to keep up, even though my sore limbs and body screamed at me the next day. I was sore for days.

Finally, the class came to an end, and the trapeze instructor had to help me out of the silks. I was completely stuck. I watched Jake smoothly glide out of his. I huffed as I approached him. My cheeks burnt from embarrassment. I hated him finding me like this, so tired, out of breath and undone.

He smiled and passed me a water bottle. “Don’t worry Violet. You’ll get better at it. You just need to practice.”

I nodded, too exhausted to argue.

“Let’s do a list of things that scare us and pick an item on that list and go do them! Mine is definitely trying out tandem bungee jumping.” Jake said with a grin, all pumped up.

Bungee jumping! My eyes popped further open, and I sucked in a breath. I stood frozen, giving a stiff fake laugh.

“You wanna grab a bite to eat, before going to your place?” He asked.

“Yes, that would be great. I’m starving.” I replied, shaking off the list of doom out of my mind.

He placed his arm around me and kissed me on top of my head as we both left the trapeze class.

***

We strolled through my front door. I was thankful Stacey was out for the afternoon, and probably the whole night too. I had no idea how long she would be staying, but kept on avoiding the question when asked or made some excuse. I promised myself to get to the bottom of it.

We had just left an all-vegan restaurant and my tummy was filled with tofu, salad and green juice, the grass after taste still lingered in my mouth. I sighed. My stomach craving for a bacon cheeseburger.

I checked my phone as Jake moved towards the living room. I saw two messages from Eric and glanced at it, noticing it had nothing to do with the office. It was a Saturday afternoon, I wasn’t going to do work right now. It can wait till later.

This was the second time Jake had been to my place. We plopped down on the sofa, and I snuggled up under his arm. He chuckled and held me warmly. I liked snuggling up next to him. He felt firm and soft all at the same time. My hand grazed his toned arms and chest, still pumped up from our trapeze session.

I turned on the TV and he flipped through the channels with the remote in his right hand, his other hand played with my ponytail.

“You wanna watch a movie?” I asked. “‘Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets’ will play soon.” I chimed excitedly.

Jake pulled his mouth. “Nah. I’m not a Harry Potter fan, never read the books and watched the first film and I was like nope, not for me. Not into fantasy. I’m more a Sci-fi type of guy.”

I gave a nervous laugh, wanting to change the subject.

“Someone’s birthday is coming up?” I sang. “What you wanna do?”

Jake looked at me and leaned in; his face close to mine. “I just want to spend it with you.” He said hot against my ear as his teeth nipped at my ear lobe.

My legs buckled and squirmed against the sofa. “Oh,” I said breathlessly.

His lips touched the delicate skin on the side of my neck. Trail of light sweet kisses lined it. Jake’s lips were soft and sensual. My breath hitched. My hips buckled, pulling forward. The sweet sensation forcing my mind into overdrive.

In our two weeks of dating, I haven’t gone further than kissing. I wanted this to change. So freaking bad!

Jake found my lips in a hot kiss, his tongue playing hockey with mine. I bit the bottom of his lip while grabbing his luscious thick hair between my fingers, wanting him to take me right now on this sofa. My aching clit needed it. It’s like Jake read my mind. He grabbed me and flipped me on the sofa. His hands smoothly pulled off my top, exposing my bra. Tingles rippled across my skin, wherever he touched.

He slid his left hand down my tights, inside my panties that were already wet with lust. His fingers rubbing over my tender clit.

The sensation was too much.

Too much to handle.

I stopped kissing his lips, focusing on his touch giving me such pleasure I forgot existed. He took his hand out and unzipped his pants.

This was it!

This was the moment I was going to have sex again!

Yes!!!

‘BLURRED LINES’ blasted through my phone, shocking me out of my gratification. My sweet sweet bliss.

Sugar!

What the freak does Eric want now?

My mind contemplated to pick it up or not.

I won’t pick it up!

I grabbed Jake’s face urging him to continue. But sighed instead.

“Uh, I gotta take this quick. It might be an emergency.” I whined.

Jake nodded. “Sure. It’s okay.” He said breathlessly, I couldn’t help but hear the disappointment laced in his voice.

I bit my bottom lip and answered the call disheveled and quite frankly upset!

“Eric?”

“Harper! Finally. I sent you two texts already asking to send me the password to my Facebook account. I forgot what it was.” Eric said. “What the hell?”

“Was that all.” I asked annoyed as hell. “I’ll send it later.” I replied coldly and switched the phone off with a scowl.

I turned to Jake. He was sitting on the sofa, his arms folded in front of the TV, but his gaze was on me.

“Sorry about that Jake.” I apologized. “Eric, likes things done like 5 minutes ago already.”

He nodded. “Yeah! He’s a very demanding man.”

“Let’s pick up where left off?” I asked playfully as I approached him slowly, biting my bottom lip. But I could tell he cooled off, no longer feeling the heat. It was might as well, because my front door swung open and Stacey in her short dungaree entered the apartment.

Jake and I glanced at each other.

“Some other time huh?” He heaved.

I huffed and slumped on the sofa next to him. Forcing a smile. So much for breaking my five-year sex deprivation!
