Chapter 59

He grabbed my face in between his hands and pressed his lips fast and hard against mine. I tried pulling away from him and after a few seconds he let go of me. “Dimitri!” I exclaimed, trying to keep quiet as I really didn’t need my parents waking up. “Why are you acting like this?”

He sighed in frustration as he slumped against my headboard. “Sorry.” He sighed as he ran his fingers through his hair. “I’m sorry, Izzie.”

I wrapped the blanket around me, covering myself up before settling myself beside him. “It’s okay.” I spoke quietly, watching him intently. He seemed really tired and upset as he sat there deep in thought.

He then turned to look at me as he got up off the bed. He then picked up my pjs off the ground, staring at them for a few seconds, before a small smile broke out on his face. “These are awfully cute.” He spoke in amusement, causing me to blush in embarrassment. He probably thought I was very childish for them. But ignoring that thought, I moved on to the question that’s been on my mind since he came here.

“Dimitri.” I spoke, reaching out to grab his hand in mine. “What happened just now? Why were you acting like that?” I asked softly, noticing a frown appear on his face.

“It was nothing, just a stupid dream.” He sighed out, before pulling me close to him. He grabbed onto the blanket covering me, meeting my gaze with his, silently asking for permission. I slowly nodded my head, causing him to smile.

He slowly removed the blanket off of me, his glowing red eyes immediately roaming my body. I blushed again even though he’s seen me naked before. It was dark in the room but I knew he had night vision so he could still see me properly. The moonlight coming in through the window also shed some light on us.

He gently pushed me down, before getting on top of me, bringing his mouth down onto mine. He kissed me slowly this time, yet with the same amount of passion as before. He ran his fingers through my damp hair as he kissed down my jaw and down to my neck.

“Dimitri.” I moaned out, my eyes closed, enjoying the sensations going through my body at his touch. “We can’t do this right now. Not when my parents are home.” I spoke as he kissed down the valley of my chest, reaching my stomach.

He looked up at me and smirked. “Don’t worry Isabella, I haven’t forgotten how loud I can make you scream.” I blushed a billion different shades of red just that moment, as he chuckled in amusement. “I also haven’t forgotten how much I love it when you blush.” He said causing me to groan in more embarrassment.

“You and your stupid night vision! Ugh!” I exclaimed as he laughed, grabbing my duck pj’s and smiling in amusement at them again.

“Come here.” He said, looking serious all of a sudden. “We need to dress you because if you’re naked like this in front of me, it’ll drive me absolutely insane not to be able to do anything.”

I crawled over to him and he wrapped an arm around my waist. He then froze staring at me, well more my body. He then laid me down again and I stared back at him in confusion.

He gazed down at me for a bit before he ran his fingers down my waist, causing me to flinch as he came into contact with bruises. He then ran his fingers down my leg, over all the bruises. From what I could make out from the moonlight shining in my bedroom, Dimitri looked angry.

“I can definitely understand why you’re parents don’t want me near you. Hell even I don’t want me near you anymore!” He grumbled as he traced all the dark bruises.

“Dimitri, you and I both know it wasn’t your fault. So please don’t be hard on yourself.” I spoke softly grabbing his hand in mind, and bringing his fingers to my lips, kissing them.

“I failed at protecting you from my own self.” He spoke sounding so miserably upset. I knew he really hated what he did to me, but he had to understand it wasn’t his fault.

“Dimitri I don’t want to hear you putting yourself down right now. I don’t want to hear any of it. What happened is in the past and none of it was your fault. All I care is that you’re hear safe with me. I love you Dimitri and I just want you to be happy. You deserve it after everything you’ve been through.” I spoke sincerely as I absentmindedly drew circles with my thumb on his palm.

“I love you too Isabella.” He whispered before he leaned down and pressed his lips down against mine, kissing me slowly. He then pulled away and dragged his lips down my body, gently brushing them over my bruises.

He then made his way back and pressed one final kiss to my lips, before laying down beside me. He wrapped an arm around my waist, pulling me in close to him. “I want to stay with you for the night. Will your parents check on you in the morning?” He asked and I shook my head.

“My door is locked. They won’t know. You can spend the night with me and leave in the morning.” I replied causing a smile to appear on his face.

“I’ll come everyday then.” He said, burying his face in my hair. “Won’t you get annoyed having to leave so early in the morning?” I asked, my hand grabbing onto his.

“No. Why would I? Seeing you is worth everything.” He said pulling away from my hair so I could see his face. He had a cute little grin on his face and it was so adorable, I couldn’t help but grin back. He then placed a sweet kiss on my cheek, before burying his face in my hair again.

We laid there in comfortable silence, enjoying each others company when I started wondering about his dream. What did he dream about that got him so rattled? I was scared because our dreams seemed to be a reality and if what he dreamed was horrible, I didn’t want it happening in real life.

“Dimitri.” I started softly. “What did you dream about?” I asked quietly, causing him to tense up immediately, grabbing my hand in his.

“That’s not important. It was just a stupid nightmare. Now go to sleep Isabella, you’re going to school tomorrow and have to wake up early. You need your rest.” He stated firmly, pulling the blanket up over me.

“But Dimitri-”

“Isabella!” He spoke my name in a final, angry tone causing me to turn away from him. I really didn’t want to deal with an angry Dimitri right now. But honestly I didn’t get why he sounded angry. All I wanted to know was what was bothering him.

“Isabella.” He now spoke my name softly, resting his hand on my shoulder. I nudged his hand off of me as I pulled the blanket up tight to my chin.

“Go to sleep Dimitri.” I said as I closed my eyes and willed sleep to come. He was silent and so was I for a good while before I heard him sigh.

“You left me.” He spoke quietly. “Well actually, I’m not really sure if you did. But you were kissing someone. Someone who wasn’t me. I couldn’t see who but I knew it wasn’t me. Then you told whoever it was, that you love him. But it was just a nightmare Isabella, I kind of overreacted when waking up. I’m sorry. It’s just, you’re all I have. I lost both my parents, I don’t really have any friends other than Devon and now I’ve got you. You two are the only people who understand me, the only two I’ve got. So I got scared Izzie. I almost already lost you. I don’t want to come near losing you again.” His voice sounded really heavy and upset as he explained to me. I turned around towards him and grabbed his face in between my hands. I gently stroked his face as I leaned in to press a soft kiss against his lips.

“I’ll never leave you Dimitri. I can wholeheartedly promise you that. I’ll love you forever. There’ll never be a day I don’t love you. I honestly can’t imagine myself ever not loving you.” I pressed small kisses over his face as I spoke. “I didn’t save you for nothing Dimitri. I didn’t risk my life for nothing. I did it for you. I did it because I want you to be happy. I want you to get what you deserve and that is happiness. Happiness everyday, all the time.”

Dimitri grabbed me, pulling me on top of him before he started kissing me hard. I kissed him back, throwing in as much love and passion as I could before we both broke apart, breathing heavy. “Where have you been all my life Izzie? How have I survived without you for this long? Goodness Izzie, I love you so much!”

I rest my head down on his chest, wrapping my arms around his neck with a smile on my face. “I love you too Dimi.”

He groaned suddenly causing me to giggle. “Not that name again.” He sighed causing me to tell him to hush and go to sleep. He sighed again as I buried my face in his neck and closed my eyes.

“Goodnight Dimi.” I whispered yawning.

“Goodnight Izzie.” He said kissing the top of my head.

I watched myself sitting beside Nina, my best friend, with tears rushing down my face. I watched myself sobbing, surrounded with boxes of tissues. “Why does he like hurting me so much? Why Nina?” I watched myself cry out, not sure what I was talking about.

I quickly realized I was dreaming and was now even more curious as to what was happening. “Oh Isa, please don’t cry, he’s not worth it at all.” Nina said hugging dream me, trying to comfort me.

“I love him Nina, I love him so much. But all he ever does is hurt me. He purposely does it, knowing exactly how much it hurts me.” I cried and just then the scene changes and I find myself out in a field. I can see Dimitri with dream me and even though they’re quite a distance away, I can see they’re arguing.

I immediately started walking closer to them to see what they were fighting about. I got closer to see Dimitri looking really pissed and finding dream me on the verge of tears. “Don’t fucking talk to me.” He growled angrily before he started walking away from dream me. “No Dimitri, please try to understand! Please!” I watched dream me cry out as the tears spilled down her face.

“I don’t want to understand anything. I’m done with your shit Isabella! I’ve done everything I possibly can but you’ve never even tried. I can’t be with someone like this Isabella. I can’t be with you like this. I’m done with you.” He spoke firmly with no emotion in his voice before he finally walked away.

I woke up gasping, breathing hard. I touched my face and realized I had actual, real tears making their way down my face. I immediately looked beside me for Dimitri but he wasn’t there. It was the morning, of course he left. I sighed deeply, wiping my tears away.

It was just a dream. I kept telling myself as I got out of bed and started getting ready for school. It was just a dream.
