Chapter 17

I walked to my room and sat on my bed. Why does this happen to me every time? I cannot talk and stand to myself. I felt weak. I am a black soul. I cannot ver stand up against anyone. I am just a pathetic freak.

A FREAK. A PATHETIC FREAK.

I mentally said to myself. I saw someone standing near the door holding a mug. I looked at who it was. Blake King. The muscular handsome guy.

Wait HANDSOME? What the hell is wrong with me...

“Drink,” Blake said while giving me the mug.

I looked into it to see what it was. Nothing that I knew of. I took a small sip. Cinnamon and lemon was the only thing I tasted. It was warm and was very delicious. Blake stared at me the whole time which made me uncomfortable like always. I looked at him. I blinked twice as I was nervous.

“Did I do something wrong?” I mumbled quietly.

He didn’t reply. After two minutes of the staring competition, he broke the silence.

“I don’t believe that there was a mouse under your bed,” he said in his deep voice.

A shiver ran down my spine as he brought the most sensitive topic in my life.

“Was there a mouse?” He asked me.

I felt my stomach get twisted into a knot.

“Was there a mouse?” He asked again making his voice much deeper.

“Yess...” I said.

I couldn’t say there wasn’t any mouse, my uncle came upstairs and did... I felt my tears leaking from my eyes. Everything went blurry.

“Shit” Blake said while running his hand over his hair.

“What the hell?! I do know everything but not to handle a girl” he said while looking at me. I hugged my knees.

“Please don’t cry,” he said slowly.

But my tear flow was unstoppable. The only thing I felt was pain. Suddenly everything blackout.

“Is she alright?” I heard a voice.

“She passed from dehydration and exhaustion” I heard a female voice.

I opened one eye to be invited by bright light. My eyes adjusted to the light and I saw Seth and Elise standing.

“I will go now,” Elise said.

“Thank God you opened your eyes... I am sorry for leaving you behind in the cafe. I shouldn’t have to. I am sorry. It happened... happened...” he started to walk around nervously.

“It is fine. Whatever the reason is, I am fine” I said.

“Thanks,” he said.

“How do you feel?” He asked.

“Head hurts but other than that I am fine,” I said while leaning against the headboard of the bed.

“Did the mouse come again” he joked.

I frowned at his statement. My uncle’s fake mouse.

“I come back with your soup,” he said.

I sighed and stared at the ceiling. But my peace moment was ruined by a beep sound.

I looked to where it came from. Seth’s phone. After few seconds the sound again repeated. Beep. Beep. Beep. It went on. I didn’t want to get nosey to check what it was. I decided to call him.

“Seth” I shouted. He came running with a bowl in his hand.

“Did a mouse come again?” He asked.

“Nooo your phone was beeping, ” I said.

“Oh here is your soup,” he said while giving me the bowl.

He looked into his phone and a huge smile formed on his face.

“I thought it was a call,” I said awkwardly.

“No It’s some texts,” he said while smiling again.

“You seem happy to whoever it is, ” I said while eating the last bit of the soup.

“Yeah, he- she is a great person,” he said while scratching his neck. I narrowed my eyes at him.

“Don’t lie” I said.

He gave a sly smile while going back to his phone again. His smile dropped and was frustrated.

“A.... what happened?” I asked.

“Nothing happened,” he said.

“You are exactly like Blake. Nothing happened” I scoffed.

“It is complicated” he replied immediately.

“How complicated? Like someone is texting you that he, No sorry she is going to kill someone. Or he, No sorry she is going -” I mocked. But half I was cut off by his groans.

“It is just stuff that is complicated. It is just... my private stuff” he said.

“Oh, your private stuff. Ok, no problem keep them to yourself” I said while rolling my eyes.

“Just listen, it is so complicated,” he said.

I couldn’t reply as his phone vibrated again with the beep sound. He took the phone to see it and smiled again.

“You are like a switch. You look to your phone and your moods switch within a second” I said.

“Yeah, that because this one is perfect...” he said while typing and stopped typing as he realized what he said. I smiled at him.

“Ok lovebird. Just say me who it is. I don’t care who the person is” I said while smiling.

“Promise me to never ever say anyone,” he said.

“Of course I will say, everyone. I talk to many people in school” I scoffed.

I didn’t know what got into me with scoffing and mocking but it definitely did work on Seth.

“Ummm promise me...” he said again.

“Jesus Christ. I promise you” I said a bit louder. “Ok... um.... this is so fucking hard. No one knows this thing except one person. Of course, that person should know it” he rambled.

“Just say it,” I said while being bored at his drama. “Ok just please don’t say, anyone. I just don’t want anyone to know either. I am .... fucking... gay” he said.

“Umm, what?” I exclaimed. “I am gay,” he said slowly.

“Holy shit. I never thought that the bad boy would be gay....” I said as my eyes widened in realization.

“Yeah. Neither did i” he said. “So.... who is the person?” I asked.

Surprise....
