I walked with Alyssa down the hallway. It was lunch break and the both of us were very tired. Math class just makes you want to cry when you have a low grade. I was happy though, because at least it wasn’t that low. I could still work better next time. Besides, it shouldn’t be that hard. I hope...
“We should study together.” she said.
I knew she was saying that because she wanted to help me pull up my grades, and I was happy she at least cared.
“Yes. I probably need that.” I smiled at her and she smiled back.
As we walked, we saw him leaning against the locker, smoking a cigarette. I shook my head. I don’t know if he knew that smoking inside a building is not allowed, but then again, no one really had the guts to walk up to him and tell him not to do something. At least that’s what I heard. Alyssa told me it would be better if I stayed away from him. He’s bad news. I once heard that a guy walked up to him and said that he shouldn’t smoke inside the building and the next thing we know is that the guy ended up in the hospital. But I didn’t want to believe things unless I see it. Besides, who knows what really happened.
I had to be honest though, Hunter is the hottest guy I have ever seen in my life. He had black hair that was perfectly styled, he had blue eyes, slightly tanned pale skin, and his tattooed body just made him more attractive than he already was. I removed my eyes from Hunter and looked ahead of me. Shut up Zoe. Don’t look at him, don’t fantasize about him, and don’t even think about him. Just focus on school. I scolded myself.
I brought a sandwich from home, so I didn’t have to buy food. After Alyssa got her lunch we went to one of the benches under the tree in the middle of the school. We never really left the school. We always stayed at school and ate our lunch, laughing like two retarded Hyenas. As I took a bite of my sandwich, my gaze locked with Hunter. He wasn’t standing that far from us and I could clearly see his dangerous eyes eyeing me from head to toe. I don’t know why, but I couldn’t stop staring at him. There was something about his eyes. I don’t know what it was, but it felt as if he could see right through my soul. As if his eyes were telling a more different story than his appearance was.
“Zoe!” Alyssa yelled out my name and I finally looked away from Hunter.
“Yes?” I smiled innocently at her.
She sat next to me and gave me a look. “I told you to stay away from him! He is a psychopath and you never know what he can do! Even from an eye contact he can walk up to you and beat the shit out of you.” she said.
“But how are you so sure about that? Maybe he’s just misunderstood. Maybe he isn’t like what people say he is. How can you just believe rumors?” I questioned her. “Besides, I was just looking at him.”
“I don’t know. His whole appearance just screams the word ′psychopath′. He just doesn’t seem normal.” she said.
I looked back at Hunter. He wasn’t looking my way anymore. He was just standing there with his cigarette in his hands. He was just looking around. I took the time to take him in. He was wearing a black shirt with black jeans and his vans. I think that I was developing a crush on Hunter Adams now. I know it was wrong, but I really had nothing to lose here. He was just the definition of perfection. Although he was super dangerous, he had this look that convinced me that he once cared too much.
Maybe Hunter is as broken as me.
I opened the door and walked into the house, closing the door behind me. Luckily his car wasn’t in the garage. He usually arrives before me, but whenever his car is nowhere to be seen, then it means that he’ll be working until ten and that means that I have the whole day for myself. I did a happy dance as I walked to the stairs. I climbed my way to my room and then took a shower, dancing and singing happily. I obviously will have to cook for him, but that also means that I can cook something for myself and I won’t have to eat leftovers.
I wore my shorts, socks and my sweater since it was a cold day. I danced my way to the kitchen before just freezing as my smile fell.
“Surprise.” he smirked at me.

Stephen Warner: To start off, I am thoroughly impressed. The writing style is somewhat unique, and the plot seemed to move at a nice and steady pace. However, I was not expecting this to be a vampire book! I am usually not one for novels about vampires, but I was pleasantly surprised! You wrote with such grace a...
SandraHan1: This story is very descriptive, with vivid scenes from the very beginning, which made for a good scene setting. I love the symbolism in names, such as “Naysayers”, “Hadd”, etc . The story itself is revolutionary, intriguing, emotional and exciting. I was very pleased to see that there is a happy ...
kwilliams: I am an avid reader, and I do mean AVID and few indie authors capture my attention the way you have. I absolutely fell in love with these characters and their story.
