Blurb

Haley a girl who has fallen into a horrible addiction, found help from an old family friend. little did she know, walking away from her horrific past, she would be walking into another trap. years later, turning up on her parents doorstep heavily pregnant and in labor, running away from something she clearly was afraid of. will she keep the baby, or give the infant up for adoption?

Prologue

There is one moment, when the earth stands still, and that is the moment, a mother holds her new born child for the 1st time. That split of a second is the single moment a real love connection is made. I simply remember the smell of your skin the moment I held you for the very 1st time. The room full of chemicals soon became very clear to me the real meaning of parenthood. Doctors and nurses were wandered why this 9Lb 10 Oz little baby didn’t cry. And to be honest with you – I was terrified! A pinch didn’t make you cry, neither did a tiny slap on your oh so tiny little butt do the trick. Then they handed you over to me, and the little squeak that gasped from your tiny lips; was that of a “hey”. Tears of joy ran down my face, and I was relieved to have you in my arms.

You see little man, a mother goes through all that pain, just to give a life to another tiny person in the world. I hope one day you will grow up and be there to witness such an amazing experience. I believe that you can go anywhere in life; if only you just believe in yourself! And don’t ever think for a second that your bad at something, because you are amazing at the things you are ought to do!

Something Magical happened on the 12th August 2005, it was the day you came waltzing into my life; and shown me that it’s not so difficult to walk through life hand in hand with a child on your own, but it may be the bravest thing any mother could ever do by herself. Thank you for giving me that experience.

With all my love to you dear Wayne

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LITTLE MAN

Mourn8220House: When first reading "Avarice," I thought it would be another fairytale but I was taken back the author's approach and choice of ending. MelanyFrey: This story is just so realistic and so amazingly written that I felt I was a part of it.
