The Week That We Met

Sunday

1:32 AM. I wake up in the dead of night wondering what the hell happened. I practically passed out after committing myself to a trance, holy shit. She’s peacefully asleep on my bed. I bothered to rummage through her bag and look for her phone. Fortunately, there aren’t any messages or missed calls. Wait, how? Looking at her right now, though... I’m being filled with a cocktail of emotions. She’s not gonna get knocked up, is she?

“Mmm... Hey, good morning,” she greets me as she rubs her eyes and squints at me in the darkness. “You good?”

“You’re sure you’re on the pill, right?”

“Uh, yeah. Of course. I don’t want to get pregnant, silly.”

“Okay, I’m back to my regularly scheduled confidence.”

“We practically passed out, huh?”

“That we did.”

“Awesome. Wanna have a go at it again?”

“Let’s not get too ahead of ourselves,” I say as I tucked myself back into bed. And as we faced each other, we took the chance to cuddle. However, our bare skin coming into contact once more was more than enough to get me aroused.

“I-I’m sorry, that’s just how it works...” I apologize humbly for being too confident as my lower half erects a rod to poke at her.

“It’s a good thing your body’s honest,” she chuckles. “But I really was serious about having a go at it again.”

She pulls away the blanket in order to seduce me... which successfully works. I give in and let ourselves experience more pleasure.

While we did go for a few rounds enough to make us pass out— and we did, the sun rises and casts its rays just outside my window. We notice this and take the chance of watching it together as we cuddled. After a few minutes, I decide that it was time to have some hot coffee as the early morning was pretty cold on its own. That, and we spent the night buck naked.

“After this, we’ll be returning to our lives. We’ll be having school again, we’ll be with our friends again...”

“The main difference is that we’re now together. How should we announce it?”

“I think we should keep it on the down low for now and reveal it slowly.”

"I like the idea. Let's go with that."

We sip on some good coffee as the morning passes by. However, it was also almost time to say goodbye.

"So, I'll see you tomorrow?"

"Yup. See you tomorrow. I'll be in touch."

"At the library again, yeah?"

She nods and smiles at me. We proceed to dress up and prepare for our temporary separation.

"Thanks for your time."

"My pleasure. I'm all yours now, so there's no need to worry about taking my time."

"True. I'll text you when I get home."

"That, and we'll be texting each other a lot more from now on."

"Point taken. I'll see you later, Ollie. I love you."

"I love you too, Amy."

We share our final kiss for today before she heads out and returns to her home. I initially wanted to escort her, but she insisted on going alone since she didn't want to raise suspicion around the neighborhood. So I relented, and let her be. I immediately texted her a few minutes after her departure though. Happily for me, she also immediately replied as if she already predicted it would happen. My life from now on would have a guaranteed moment of bliss. But I know for a fact that despite the convenience of it all, we will need to work harder to ensure that we build the relationship that's just right for us both. It's amazing to think that only in a mere passage of a week, events would escalate and I'd find someone I'd love to spend my whole life with. The week shows me a fulfilling ending. But endings are also heralds of new beginnings. More changes are bound to occur, and I am determined to weather the prevailing winds that the storms of time will bring.
