Chapter 38

Seira

I walked towards the living room, running my fingers through my hair and straightening my dress for the tenth time to avoid any creases that would suggest the obvious.

Breath in and breath out...

I stopped outside the living room when I saw Laila and Adam standing at the kitchen door, completely engrossed in their conversations.

What are they talking about??

Adam scowled at something Laila said and I wanted to walk up to them and listen to whatever they were talking about. I heard the door of the living room open and Sella looked at me, diverting my attention from them to her.

"Hi...," Sella looked worried as she assessed me from top to bottom.

"Hi..I-I..um...I was about-" I stopped as she hugged me tight, breaking all of my awkwardness and reluctance, igniting the same warmth that I feel with her.

"It's good to see you well. I was worried about you since that day. Are you okay?" She broke the hug and looked at my head, probably looking for the hit of the rod.

"Yeah, I am good...wow...thank you, Sella. I thought you would be mad at me," I said as she tugged me inside the room, making me sit on the couch beside her.

"Why would you think that?" She asked.

"Because I lied to you...like many times when you genuinely looked after me," I said.

"I understand your reason, Seira. You did whatever you can for your survival. It didn't harm anyone so... why should I be mad at you?" She warmly smiled and squeezed my hand.

"I am sorry. You are a very good person, Sella," I said trying to control my tears from falling down my cheeks.

"I know," She chuckled.

"So how are you?" I asked and she smiled.

"I am good. Going through terrible morning sickness and eating lots of food every day," She complained and I laughed.

"It's not that bad," I said

"Worse than you can imagine. I thought it was lovely to have a baby but when I go through this every morning then I just want to hit Liam for making me suffer," She said and I chuckled.

"So when is the due date?" I asked as her stomach looked a bit swollen.

"It's after six months. In the first week of June...I guess, "She said.

" I am very happy for you, "I took her hand in mine.

"Thank you. So your mate is Alpha Daniel?" She asked looking a bit uncertain.

"Yes, " I said as I was ready to answer her very next question.

"I mean-mean...he-he killed his first mate," She said looking at me.

"Yes, he did. But I promise you he is not what we heard in rumors. He is a very good person. His mate killed all those people and he was blamed for that," I said looking around.

"His mate was the killer?" She sounded surprised

"Yes, she was the one to kill everyone. He had to kill her to stop her from killing more. He had suffered a lot, Sella, "I said confiding her all the story about Daniel.

" Oh, my goddess!! Here we thought we had a monster as our Alpha," She said.

"Even I thought the same when I came to know who he was. But Sella, somewhere I knew he would never hurt me. I am very happy with him," I said as I looked at Sella who had tears in her eyes.

"I am sorry. I guess...pregnancy hormones. I am so happy for you," She wiped her tears from her cheeks.

"Ouch...it hurts," Her expressions suddenly changed and her hand got onto her belly as she scowled.

"You okay?" I asked getting up and giving her space to lie down on the couch.

"Oh goddess, it hurts..." She clutched the edge of the couch as I breathed in before preparing myself to use my healing powers.

"Just lie down and relax... Let me help...the pain will go away," I said as my hands covered her belly and I focused on my energy.

As my power starts flowing through her and healing her pain she shouted initially but slowly her cries ceased. I could hear the strong heartbeat of the baby and I was thankful that the baby was safe and sound.

Seira...Seira...Seira...

My power got heightened as the energy out of me kept on flowing and enveloping Sella. It was as if I couldn't stop myself. The sweet melody of unknown whisper hypnotized me and I was lost in the sweet essence of being powerful.

I closed my eyes as my mind wandered to the fetus rotating inside Sella's belly. The energy of new life, the taste of it would be delicious....the thought itself was compelling me.

Seira...Seira...Seira...

"What happened? Is everything okay?" I jerked at the voice of Daniel behind me as if his voice has pulled me out of some compulsion.

"Yeah, I was healing her. She is okay now, let her rest for a few minutes," I said as he moved inside the room.

What was that whisper?

"Daniel?" I said as he came near me and I forgot whatever I was about to tell.

"What?" He asked looking concerned.

What was I telling him?

"I'm....um..., "I concentrated on whatever I was about to say to him. I struggled with the hazy memory of someone calling me but I couldn't voice it out. As of now, the memory seemed like the fading dream...only the healing part of Sella seemed true.

" Are you okay?" He asked me as I looked at him then at Sella.

"Yea-yeah, I just forgot something I was about to tell you," I said again struggling to find whatever was bothering me.

"It's okay. Give it some time, you will recall it soon," He said sweetly smiling, kissing the top of my head and I nodded.

"Umm...um..." Sella whimpered as she slowly came awake and I sat on my knees near her.

"Are you okay?" I asked as she opened her eyes and looked at me then at Daniel.

"What happened? Is baby okay?" She asked trying to sit up with her hand covering her belly in a protective gesture.

"Yeah, the baby is healthy, it was just a cramp," I said as she sighed with relief and became conscious of Daniel's gaze.

"I will leave you two alone. Call me if you need anything?" Daniel said squeezing my hand before walking out of the room.

"He seems to care for you a lot, Seira," Sella said as her eyes stared at the place where Daniel was standing.

"I know, he does," I said looking at the door.

"When are you coming back to school?" Sella asked as I sat beside her.

"I don't know," I sighed running a hand through my hair.

"Don't worry about facing everyone. You are Alpha's mate...our luna, nobody is going to question you. Kids are waiting for you to join them...as they have been telling your story to everyone like you are their new superhero. They are eager to meet you," She said.

"They are not afraid -afraid of me??" I asked surprised at her words.

"No, why would they be. You saved them, Seira. They love you," Sella said getting up and I helped her get up.

"Well, you should take your time and think about it. Everyone is eager to see you at school," Sella added as we walked up to the door.

"Thank you, Sella," I said hugging her as she lifted the heavy baggage from my chest.

"You don't have to thank me. It was all you Seira and everyone could see your spirit to help those kids," Sella said breaking the hug.

"I should leave now, Liam would be here soon to pick me up,", Sella said.

"Take care of yourself," I said as I walked up to the main door and opened it for her. We saw Liam's car coming towards the porch and I waved him with a smile.

"You too, take care of yourself," Sella said before sliding into the car.

"Hey Seira," Liam waved.

"Hi Liam," I smiled.

"How are you feeling, Baby?" He asked Sella lovingly.

"Better," She said and waved at me as the car started moving.

"Bye, Seira. It was good to see you," Liam shouted as the car moved some distance between us.

"Bye, guys," I whispered as the car disappeared around the corner and I walked back to the house.
