Chapter 25

“Gosh, I’m so sorry. I got paint on your shirt.” I said pulling back but Xavier pushed me to him again.

“I don’t give a damn about the paint.” He said pushing her face back to his chest.

“Daddy, look at the art work Mamma and I did.” Said Ace suddenly remembering his masterpiece.

“That looks amazing, Son. You did a great job.” Xavier complimented.

“Thanks, Daddy.” Ace replied shyly.

“I got you some presents.” Xavier said and before he could speak more Ace squirmed out of his arms and went back inside the house to hunt for them making both of us chuckling.

“And how is my Angel doing?” Asked Xavier wrapping his now free arm around me.

“I’m good like I told you twenty times already. Now you tell me why you didn’t inform me you were going to come today. We even talked sometime before and you mentioned nothing.”

“I wanted it to be a surprise.” He said cupping my face.

“Is everything okay there? Is the issue resolved? Or will you have to go again?” I asked and he smoothened my frown.

“Everything is solved. I was determined to wrap things up there before two weeks as there was no way I could stay that long without you both.” He said and his brutally honest statement made me blush. He leaned down to kiss my red cheeks and placed feather kisses on my jaw.

“Mamma! Daddy got me the new version of…” Ace voice bellowed from inside and Xavier groaned out and hid his face on my neck while I was trying to get hold of myself.

“Come on then, we’ll go inside. I got you gifts too.” He said pulling back and before I could speak I was lifted into his arms.

“Xavier!” I protested but the man paid no heed to me and carried me inside. His ‘gifts’ could fill up an entire shop. The man went overboard and got me tons of things which I hoped weren’t as expensive as they looked.

Xavier had brought pizza on his way home and so we all chilled on the couch eating. Xavier was more touchy and cuddlier than usual which I didn’t even know was possible. He sat in between Ace and I and caressed Ace’s hair continuously and kissed my temple every now and then. Ace ended up falling asleep in the end and Xavier had to carry him upstairs into his room. He then came back and laid his head on my lap.

“Why don’t you take a nap in your room?” I asked and he mumbled out something incoherent and buried his head into my stomach and was asleep in few minutes. I sighed at this and continued watching the movie on the TV and slowly I too fell asleep.

I woke up feeling a warm hand gently caressing my back under my top and opened my eyes to see that I was now laying on top of Xavier on the couch.

“What’s the time?” I asked my voice coming out hoarse from the sleep.

“Not time to get up yet.” He replied cheekily and kissed my nose. I mumbled something and tiredly snuggled to him hoping to go back to sleep as I was feeling very comfortable.

“Mamma? Daddy?” I heard Ace call and few minutes later I felt him crawl on to the sofa and lay beside me, on top of Xavier. I shifted slightly to remove my weight off Xavier and laid next to him.

“He smells like you.” Xavier noted after kissing Ace’s hair and I laughed at this.

“That’s because he used my hair products.” I said gently pinching Ace’s cheek.

“No, that’s because I got to cuddle Mamma a lot.” Ace boasted proudly.

“Is that so?” Xavier asked gently tickling Ace and I got off the couch knowing the father-son duo was back to their antics again.

It was only during dinner that it dawn on me that Ace won’t be living with me anymore. I would once again would be living alone which was fine before but now for the next few days at least it is going to be really hard.

“Uhm..Ace’s things are still at my house. I will drop them tomorrow morning.” I said and glanced at Ace to see his face fall at the realization.

“You are not leaving tonight.” Xavier stated and I raised my eyebrows at this.

“I just came today and so you can’t leave so soon. We’ll drop you off at your house tomorrow and get his things then.” He said and I was about to protest but then I realised that I didn’t want to.

“Alright.” I agreed and Xavier leaned in to kiss my cheek while Ace cheered.

It was hard the next day also. I grimly packed away all of Ace’s things from his room and mine. Ace tailed behind me silently from room to room and demanded to have some of his things kept there for when he have next sleepover.

“Mamma, you can have this toy. To remember me.” Ace said placing his newest toy on my nightstand.

“I don’t need anything to remind me of you, little one. You are always in here.” I said keeping a hand on my chest.

“Don’t be sad, both of you. You will meet each other almost everyday and we will be having lot of sleepovers too.” Xavier said comfortingly and I nodded in agreement and kissed Ace’s cheek.

“You guys should head to the school now. It’s getting late.” I said once I was done packing.

“Alright. We’ll see you soon.” Xavier replied taking the bags off my hand and he leaned down to kiss my cheek.

“Bye, Mamma..” Ace mumbled out wrapping his arms around my legs.

“Bye, little one.”
