Prologue - Sienna
It has been a few months since that horrible night I was attacked by someone I thought I could trust. Theo was my friend initially at the start, but things were getting bad between us, and I had planned on quitting to get away from the horrible atmosphere in the bar.
We worked a late shift one night, dealing with loads of customers until one morning. When I was about to leave to head home, Theo decided to stop me from leaving by grabbing my arm. I turned around and told him to let me go, and we argued about me telling him no that I did not want to be with him.
Theo did not take that well, and he started to get physical with me by hitting me and forcing himself on me. I tried to fight back against him, slapping and scratching him till my nails would bleed. I had screamed for help, yelling for anyone to hear me while he was attacking me.
A few hours later, Theo left me lying on the ground behind the bar’s dumpster, where an MC Member from the Lions Hearts MC found me. The moment I woke up in the hospital learned his name was Leo, and he was the President of the Lion Hearts MC. Leo explained how he found me and how he had brought me to the hospital. We had talked for a few more hours before the doctor came and told Leo he had to leave as visiting hours were closed.
Later that day, my mother visited Leo and me, who brought another gentleman with him. “Hello, Little Bird. I brought with me my lawyer to help with your case.” Leo said as he entered the room, helping my mother sit down in the chair next to my bed.
I gave Leo a small smile in thanks, knowing that I did not have to worry about finding the money for a lawyer. We all talked about that night and what to expect with the case as the police were able to find Theo, and now, they have him in jail waiting for the hearing.
A few days later, the court hearing took place with all of Leo’s MC members sitting around me, keeping from seeing Theo. The moment the judge said Theo was going away to prison for twelve years with a parolee, I knew that he would be sent away at the moment hearing. I would be alright and never have to see him again.
A month later, after the court case, I decided to leave Kansas and move on with my life with my baby. Leo and my mother have been dating since the beginning of my trials.
At first, I was surprised to find this out, but I was happy for my mother. She deserved her happiness after what my sperm donor did to her. I knew Leo was a good man. Even though he was an Outlaw himself, I knew how much he loved my mom with the way he treated her as if she was his everything.
“Little Bird, are you in here?” I stopped packing my box of clothes when I heard Leo call for me. I turned around to see Leo standing by the door with his arms crossed over his chest.
“Yes, Leo. I’m right here.” I said, hugging him and kiss on his cheek.
Leo returned the hug, pulling me into his arms and placing a small kiss on my head.
“Well, little bird, I wanted to speak with you before leaving for Warson Woods. I want to know if you would allow me to marry your mother?” Leo had asked me as we sat down on my old bed. I was speechless at what he asked me, but I knew Leo would care for my mom.
“Leo, promise me that you will keep my mom safe and love her. That is all I ask Leo.” I said, giving him my blessing. Leo kissed my forehead and helped me load my car up with a few small things I was able to pack for my journey.
Leo had placed the last box in the back seat and closed the door as I got into my driver’s seat, bulking up and starting the engine. I said goodbye to Leo as I knew my mom was working late at the hospital, and I texted her that I was leaving and I would call her once I made it there.
A few hours later, I had reached my destination in Warson Woods, where I was going to live in a small two-bedroom house near the center of town, and a family friend of my mother’s also helped me get a job working for her daughter at her café.
After looking around the whole house, I went back to my car, took everything inside, and unpacked it. For the first time in the last two months, I could breathe again and know that I was far away from the man who was my nightmare.
Later that evening, as I was getting ready for bed, I felt excited to start this new journey in my life and move on from what happened to me. I looked up at the clock and noticed it was getting late and that I needed to get to bed for tomorrow was my first day at the café as a server.
I made my way towards my room, took off my dirty clothes for the day, got into my bed under the covers and let sleep take over my mind. “We are safe now, and I will protect you, my little one, even if I die trying” was my last thought before I finally let sleep claim me.
