Chapter 1
“I’ll see you guys Monday,” I said hugging my friend.
“Drive safe and don’t forget that test tomorrow.” My best friend Dylan told me with a smile.
“We will. Thanks for inviting us.”
“No problem. I needed more people in the room anyway if I willing watch a horror movie. I have a better chance of survival if a killer pops out of nowhere.” Dylan said with a laugh.
My best friend Dylan was a fiery red head. Her hair almost fell to her butt and has natural curls. Big bright green eyes and freckles covered her face. She was a very beautiful girl with a feisty attitude. Dylan is very persistent and isn’t afraid of anything, but when it comes down to horror movies there is a soft spot for her.
Dylan and I’ve been friends since freshman year. She had just moved into my neighborhood a couple of houses down. Let’s just say that not everyone was nice to her at first. One day I caught Angela and her friends bullying Dylan outside the girl’s bathroom. I’m a stickler of people bullying, so that was the day I and Dylan got suspended for a week, after beating the hell out of Angela and her friends. It was the day our friendship was made and the day we made an enemy.
“I knew it,” I said with a playful eye roll.
“You ready baby?” My boyfriend, Kevin, ask walking up next to me.
“Yeah, see you later Chip!” I yelled to Dylan boyfriend.
“Until next time Chlo!” He yelled back.
“Have a goodnight, Dylan,” Kevin told Dylan as we walk out her house.
“You too, be careful okay.” She told him holding the door.
I gave her the last wave before making my way to Kevin’s car. He opens the door for me and waits until I got settled before closing it. Kevin has always been gentlemen even before we started dating. We started going out freshman year and had been friends a couple of years after.
The thing that always attracted me to him wasn’t his looks or his athleticism. It was his kind heart and the love that radiate off him every time you see him. No matter how bad his day is going, he’s never without a smile. His life isn’t all rainbows and pots of gold, but you have something special if you can still show love with all the problems going on.
There’s something between us that not many couples can say they have. We have a love that can never be broken.
I will never forget Kevin Barlow if we somehow split from each other.
At least that’s what I thought.
