Unusual Events

This is KHQ-11, non-stop local news, sports headlines, and weather for Spokane, Washington. Live with the KHQ night team, this is KHQ-11 at eleven.

“Good evening, Spokane, I’m Theresa Poplar. News at eleven, Spokane County Police are baffled by a pair of murders in Millwood. We had Jessica Wright, of the KHQ-11 team, on the scene earlier today.”

“I’m here at the home of Quinton and Stephanie Parker where Police have been on scene since this morning when a neighbor found the couple dead in their own home. While the details are still forthcoming, Police have confirmed that Quinton and Stephanie Parker were found dead in their home at approximately eight this morning by a neighbor who carpooled with Quinton Parker to work. Police Chief Higgs had this to say.”

“At this time we are still collecting evidence. The victims appear to have been mauled by a bear; however there is no evidence of a break-in or any foul play at this time. We are working with Animal Control but until we have been able to find the bear, I urge residents to remain in their homes after sunset.”

“And we will keep you up-to-date on that developing story. In other news, the four voting members of the Washington State Redistricting Commission unanimously approved the final version of the Washington State Redistricting Plan last Sunday…”

From NBC News, this is Today with Rachel Parks and Peter Johansson. Live from Studio 1A in Rockefeller Plaza.

“Good morning. Welcome to Today this Tuesday. I’m Peter Johansson.”

“And I’m Rachel Parks. Good morning everybody. The big news this morning, Republican Senator John Rutledge announced his intention to run in the Presidential election next year. Rutledge was met with mixed response but he says that he feels confident in his decision.”

“I’ve spoken with my family for months about this, have looked inside my heart, and I know that this is the way I can best serve the American people. I hope for your support next November.”

“And we’ll keep you updated on that on the campaign trail. Also a story we’ve been following, the Internet is a buzz with a YouTube video titled “Brian’s Special Talent” in which a high school boy, filmed by his friends, appears to shape shift into a hawk, flies a circle around the field behind their school, before becoming human again. The 38-second clip was posted in early March of this year and has since broken into YouTube’s Top 50 Most Viewed videos. Opinions are mixed as to whether this video is real, or simply a product of today’s special effects.”

M.L. Rivers: This story was very good, one of the best scifi novels out there. The plot, setting, characters, everything was very original and it was just a good read. I hope this story wins the competition :)

The writing style itself is amazing because you can learn every character's thoughts and emotions. The awkward love triangle and jerk moments adds to the ...

Schaelz: I was intrigued from the second I started reading, and it kept my interest the whole way through. Chelsea has a way with words that will enchant you until the very end. DennisT: This is an excellent story by an author who writes very well. the only problem areas that I see relate to proofreading and editing. All of the stories by Vanessa are excellent, and I have read them all more than once. I had hoped that they would be better edited and proofread on this site, but it...

ernbelle: When I first started this story I was a little unsettled by all of the information that appears in the prologue, and wasn't sure if I would continue. However, I am very glad I did. Carolyn Hahn-Re: I really liked this story! The writing was well done, and the plot was suspenseful. I couldn't stop reading chapter after chapter, on the edge of my seat! The characters were well developed, and true to form. Thank you so much for this wonderful read.

kathryncoard: I really enjoyed this book. It was a fast paced book, that kept me interested . Yes, it was political commentary, which I found to be relevant to many things happening in the world. The snippets from the journal show the " boiled frog " analogy that is clearly relevant . Interesting that peop...

LouiseJ2: I enjoyed the detail you went into with regards to the case. It made the UNSUB appear believable. The crisis in the middle of the story was my favorite part, very dramatic but not over the top. I feel like sometimes pairings can be overdone but I liked that some of the relationships were a little...

RodRaglin: Sounds like an interesting story, LesAnne. Here are some things you might want to consider when you revise this draft."Show don't tell."
