Perfect Time

Saya woke up in the bed with the robot which she named 'Illai' poking her head. She kicked Illai and watched the robot going to the kitchen.

"Another day again." She murmured.

She went out from her house after having a breakfast and hearing Illai's nagging. She looked around the environs of the city. It was 3677 in Seoul in the new world with advanced technology which she knew that it is obviously technological and convenient than the old world. And Saya Jung, at the age of 23, was in the middle of this urban world. She was little special, as she has improved her five senses extremely high, or because of her comely face.

Saya got into her airide -aeroplane- and decided where she will go by the 'Takes You to Your Ideal Place' machine. At the speed of 300km/hr., she felt the air of the city.

'Industrial', she thought.

She could reach the TIC-Time Information Center. The white building had a big screen at the front saying 'Anywhere, anytime, reach your perfect time.'

"If only I could reach my perfect period!"

She jeered at the ad and went into the building. The hall was full of counseling robots and the people who want time travelling at a row. She went straight to the side door at 5F which was written 'storage'. The room was no more than storage. She moved one of the robots which were out of power and a small door appeared. After few minutes, Saya was at a big room which was full of robots and people working. A woman on Saya's age came and hugged her.

"Saya!"

"Good morning, Min-Ji"

Saya barely separated Min-Ji and went to her own desk. She clicked the news button which showed the screen shot of the news. The news was always the same.

'Empty space in time… why did 2677 revised again?'

'Interview with Dr. Park... significances are found that a machine might be used to revise time'

People of the new world were curious why the world have twice begun. After the invention of the Time Machine at 3580, people figured out that the world have revised again at 2677. A time machine was made to only go exactly 1000 years from the present. But when they used the time machine, they were surprised to see that the world wasn't 2580, but was 2680. They couldn't find the answer, but just found that the world has twice begun. TIC knew something more than normal people, that a Time Saving Machine is used to save the world's memory and revised it by a special 3D printer.

Suddenly, the screen was filled with her chief's face.

"There is a new mission", he said, "A robot is caught from running away in the old world."

"How can a robot run away?"

"The robot has got mind by an experimental mistake. Anyway, you must go with Minji to the old world and meet the robot. The robot might have the information about the TSM. "

"Ok. I'll go right now." Saya nodded.

"Mission started. 10:23"

Saya and Minji went to the private Time Machine room. Few minutes later, they were standing in the center of a large hall with people and robots busy working. It was 2777 at the old world. One robot came and greeted them and lead them to one room.

"Do you really think a robot can have mind, Saya?" Minji asked while they were being checked by a machine.

"I'm not sure. But if it is, then it is." Saya answered staidly and went into the room.

The room was full of electric wires connected to a robot at the center of the room. The robot's closed eyes opened when they went near it. The robot opened its mouth.

"What do you want, you imitations?"

"We just want you to tell us any information you saved. And actually, we are real, not imitations." Saya smiled and answered instead of Minji who was in daze.

"And if you can't, we have to-"

"She won't tell, I swear. Whether you break that robot or not, she won't tell. We have already done everything."

A young man entered into the room. He walked straight and shook hands with them with a smiled face.

"Hello. My name is Minsung Yu. I'm from the old world."

"Hi. I am Saya Jung, and this is Minji Kim. We are from the new world. I bet that you know what is our mission, right? And now, we are in this room just to see this robot."

"I know what you are. Come on here, we have to show you something."

Saya pulled Minji who was still stunned and they followed Minsung. Right before they leave the room, Saya turned back. The robot was staring at her. But Saya felt that the robot was staring someone else, not Saya.

"What is it?"

Minji, who finally was able to come back to herself, asked Minsung about the screen he showed.

"It is the mind flow of REVA, the robot what you just saw. This is just like a human, right?"

"Yeah, but there is nothing special." Saya answered.

"There is something special. This mind flow is made by electricity, as you know. But the current that comes out from REVA has a virus. Which mean, it can infect human."

Right after his word, Minji's face was stunned again like a stone, and Saya's smiled face was hardened.

"You- you mean- um… virus?" Saya faltered.

"Special virus. It doesn't harm the health of human, but it can control the human's mind."

He turned back to Saya and Minji. While he said that they must avoid REVA's current, Saya thought Minsung smiled at her faintly.
