Prologue

23rd January 2163

This will be the starship Endeavour’s last communiqué with mission control back on Earth. The final status report from the mission to Lyrae 438b. Nobody is left on board now aside from me. I'm on my own, so many light years away from home on this desolate moon. The rest of the crew are dead, and soon I will be joining them. God save their souls, and mine.

I request that this message, and the entries that follow hereafter, be forwarded to my wife, Emilia, and our children, Christian and Rose. I love you all, and I pray that you can find it in your hearts to forgive me.

I include the rest of my logs from the mission with this, my final entry, in the hope that it will prevent anyone from ever making the same mistakes again. I urge whoever receives this to take note of my experiences, of the fate that befell the Endeavour and all who served aboard her, and to take heed so that the same doesn't happen again. May no-one else be forced to suffer the same fate.

Do not return to Lyrae 438b.

Dru83: This is perhaps my favorite part of the Olafson story just because it is here that were are introduced to his "gang". The characters are so diverse and complicated that each of them could just about spawn their own story. Eric's buddies are just so captivating and the plot just rolls along. Again...

Karl12: This is a very unusual sci-fi mystery. I enjoyed the suspense which was present throughout the story. I loved how I never knew what to expect from the characters. This made the story thrilling and made me suspicious of everything and everyone. You have a great style of writing – one which captiva...

internathunal: I was held captive by your sense of style. I would love to see more from you. I enjoyed this immensely.

Nymeria: Really can't get enough of this story. It flows well, it captivates the reader from page 1, and throws you into such a well-written, well conceptualized world that you'll believe it's real. Everything in the book is meshed together really well. From character backgrounds to plot twists, you can t...

CookieMonster911: The story overall was an adventure that is appealing to any age. The way the characters develop adds a more human characteristic to the novel. The writing style itself is amazing because you can learn every character's thoughts and emotions. The awkward love triangle and jerk moments adds to the ...

marklurch1: What an unexpected pleasure! I usually avoid modern gothic stories as the zombies and demons shown on TV seem so one-dimensional. But the demons in this story were truly menacing as their powers grew and transfigured as the story progressed. But then, great heroes require great villains. There we...

Melissa Davis: Interesting book and an enjoyable read. Had something different to it, that made me glad I picked it up.

Bri Hoffer: I couldn't put it down!! The characters are all incredibly likable, and it's so descriptive you can see, smell, and feel thier surroundings. Great story, and very well written. I cannot wait for follow up stories. there were a few grammatical errors, but nothing that I could move right over.

harry142018: This story was gripping and very professionally written. With lots of twists and slight of hand tricks, the author deceives the reader until finally showing their cards at the end. With several subplots all intertwining to create the main plot, this really is an interesting and engaging read.

Hawkebat: Playing both Kotor I & II and Swtor I found the story line interesting and it held me until chapter 35 Very good story and plot flow until then, very few technical errors. I felt that the main character was a bit under and over powered, as it fought for balance. The last few chapters felt too f...

themyronus: Vanessa has made 'amazing' the norme. I didn't want to read this as I am waiting for the finished and polished book to come out. But then I decided to read one chapter for kicks...well hours later I finished what was posted. Fortunately, my memory is not to good and I hope I will read the book wi...
