Chapter 10

Blake entered Ten's room. Ten was still shivering in his arms. He sat down on the bed with Ten in his arms. Blake was confused because while her body temperature was slightly cold it wasn't to the extent that Ten's body was reacting.

Amber walked in with a towel and a thin blanket. Blake reached up and grabbed the towel. He used one of his arms to sit Ten up while his other arm wrapped the towel around her. He gently laid her back down on his chest. Amber laid the blanket over Ten.

"I'm a..." Amber trailed off as she looked at Ten. "I'm going to go watch another video." Blake nodded before Amber walked out of the room. Blake slightly held her closer to him.

Ten twitched against him. Her arms grabbed his arm that was around her. Her grip tightened as she continued to twitch. A whimper escaped her throat as she lightly shoved his arm. It was such a week shove that his arm was still wrapped around her without having to even fight.

"Ten," Blake said in a calm voice. He gently grabbed her chin. She stopped struggling.

"Yes, sir?" She asked.

"I need you to wake up."

Ten's eyes opened. Her eyes looked around as her body stopped twitching. Grabbing Blake's arm she pulled it off of her waist. Slightly in a daze, she sat up and looked around the room. She grabbed the blanket and pulled it off of her. Sitting up she turned around and looked at Blake who was just sitting there looking at her.

Ten's expression didn't change when they made eye contact.

"Where..?" Ten trailed off. "Where is my Creator? He was just here."

"Ten, that was me."

"What-"

"All I had to do was hold you close to me and grab your chin." Ten stayed silent. "Don't you see what your Creator has done to you?"

"He made me, the only thing he's done is help me."

"Ten, he didn't..." Blake trailed off as he realized what he was saying.

"He didn't what?"

"So what happened to you in the shower?" Blake asked, changing the subject.

"My Creator didn't what?" Ten asked again a bit more sternly. Blake needed to get her away from that question. He quickly grabbed her chin and slightly moved her face towards him. She naturally positioned herself to where she was sitting on her knees. She placed her hands on her knees.

"What happened to you in the shower?" Blake asked again. He felt bad for doing this to Ten but he couldn't think of another way to get her off the subject.

"I don't know what happened to me in the shower. It felt like I was being drowned though."

Blake let go of Ten's chin as he began to think. He didn't understand what she meant by that or what had happened to her and she wasn't giving him any answers. Ten sat back slightly in a daze before she slowly looked around her surroundings.

"Where's Amber?" Ten asked.

"She went to go do something."

Ten only nodded. Slowly she reached out her hand pressed her tattoo. A screen appeared. Glancing at Blake she lowered her hand and the screen.

"Is it ok if I play a game?" She asked. Her voice was monotone as well as her face.

"You don't have to ask me that." At the sound of his voice, she snapped out of whatever daze she was in. Sitting back against the wall she held her fingers like a controller and a first-person perspective appeared on the screen. She started to play. Blake moved beside her and watched as the person ran in and out of destroyed buildings that looked somewhat like where the poor people lived.

His eyebrows furrowed together slightly when he saw the people. They looked very similar to how the poor looked.

"So what exactly is the objective of this game?" Blake asked as Ten shot a person in the head.

"Well, I'm being attacked and I have to defend myself and make sure that the innocent civilian doesn't get hurt or killed."

"Does this not sound familiar to you?"

"What do you mean by that?" The character jumped out of a window and into another building as she fired her gun at multiple people.

"Isn't your whole existence about protecting your Creator from the poor?"

"Yeah."

"So you don't find that odd that your game is exactly the same as what you were designed to do?"

"I don't question what my Creator does because it all has a purpose."

Blake sighed. As he did so Amber came into the room. Tears were in her eyes and down her face. She was slightly shaking but Blake couldn't tell if it was in anger or sadness.

"Ten I have a video I want you to watch."
