Introduction/Excerpt

One chose. One Destiny.

All the 16 year olds are brought together for The Hearing. They have to choose a path that will lead them to their future.

Evanna Stanley chooses a path that leads her to a grey building. A school for the future scientists.

Evanna discovers secrets among everyone else. She, along with others, are forced into working on a project that will take down all the poor and get all the rich and middle to their knees. Science will rule the world.

Among the poor, Evanna's TRUE family is having a death sentence.

Evanna and a mysterious boy discover secrets and fight against science.

What will happen when the world is taken over by science?

"I will be here with you until the very end," he said. His voice held a softness. "Promise."

I smiled through my tears and nodded. Taking his hand in mine, I looked back at the tall grey building that bore dark memories.

"Let's go." I spoke firmly.

We ran into the darkness with no guidance.

Karl12: This is a very unusual sci-fi mystery. I enjoyed the suspense which was present throughout the story. I loved how I never knew what to expect from the characters. This made the story thrilling and made me suspicious of everything and everyone. You have a great style of writing – one which captiva...

Jasmine Chow: As I read this story, I was reminded some what of Terry Pratchett, especially some descriptions of politics and economics. The sci-fic setting is quite intriguing. Writing style is quite lovely and grew on me slowly. I was also slightly reminded of Mark Twain, especially his book A Connecticut Ya...

Kelsey Miller: Page turner set in a gritty future. Loads of flavor and depth that makes the pages fly by until like me you are at the end of the book wanting more! The world is developed to the point it begs more stories set in this harsh reality. More adventures from Daryl and thr crew.

Melissa Davis: Interesting book and an enjoyable read. Had something different to it, that made me glad I picked it up.

heavyreader: great scifi novels but needs a better spell checker (check auto-substitution level) and grammar checker!!! otherwise, ready for mass market publishing!!

ronaldpolk: I can honestly say that I truly enjoyed this story. Yes there were times I thought to put it down and start another, but some of the characters called me back. The pace was appropriately slow in some places and engaging in others. I related to Steve and Ron, all characters had just the right amou...

cassandrab: Delightful SciFi (for a change)! I am not a SciFi fan: mostly the genre is far too dystopic for me. This book (written by a high-school friend) is, on the other hand, generally upbeat. Yes, Earth's future is threatened. But Earth has a chance to plan a response. And (spoiler alert) ultimately win...

263Adder: Okay so I adore this story. I only knocked one star off plot for historical inaccuracies because I'm a bit of a stickler for that. The ending broke my heart though, considering you already changed history couldn't you (SPOILER) change it a bit more and have them together!!!! I want an alternative...

Grace Mendoza: It took me around 3-4 days to finish reading this story and it feels like I'm watching a movie while reading this. Everything is so eloquently written and this MUST be published as a book and turn to a movie. There are minute spelling problems BUT nothing to bothered about. Hands down to the amaz...

taosgw74: If this is the authors first attempt at writing, I'm floored. I was engrossed in the plot from the get go.

Dina Husseini: It was a great hook. I do not like reading scifi because they end up being like all the rest but this one kept me wanting more.

Michael Simms: It took me a few chapters to get into the plot and connect with the characters involved. that said, the plot is well thought out and sticking with it was worthwhile to see how it panned out in the end.
