Introduction/Excerpt

One chose. One Destiny.

All the 16 year olds are brought together for The Hearing. They have to choose a path that will lead them to their future.

Evanna Stanley chooses a path that leads her to a grey building. A school for the future scientists.

Evanna discovers secrets among everyone else. She, along with others, are forced into working on a project that will take down all the poor and get all the rich and middle to their knees. Science will rule the world.

Among the poor, Evanna's TRUE family is having a death sentence.

Evanna and a mysterious boy discover secrets and fight against science.

What will happen when the world is taken over by science?

"I will be here with you until the very end," he said. His voice held a softness. "Promise."

I smiled through my tears and nodded. Taking his hand in mine, I looked back at the tall grey building that bore dark memories.

"Let's go." I spoke firmly.

We ran into the darkness with no guidance.

ElNachoWOTC: The grammar is tight and easy too read while packing a great vocabulary and you use a lot of vivid imagery with your words. One of the biggest things I noticed right away is the gritty realism you managed to cram into this book while going into a lot of exotic fantasy material. Including issue...

Jean Tryon: As a beta, I found this story outstanding!! Plot, grammar, phraseology, etc Rachel gives us it all. She takes the story into the future from where due South ends. She is an exacting and thoughtful author.

themyronus: Vanessa has made 'amazing' the norme. I didn't want to read this as I am waiting for the finished and polished book to come out. But then I decided to read one chapter for kicks...well hours later I finished what was posted. Fortunately, my memory is not to good and I hope I will read the book wi...

Jasmine Chow: As I read this story, I was reminded some what of Terry Pratchett, especially some descriptions of politics and economics. The sci-fic setting is quite intriguing. Writing style is quite lovely and grew on me slowly. I was also slightly reminded of Mark Twain, especially his book A Connecticut Ya...

Steve Lang: I thought this story was imaginative, and well thought out. I also think it was an original piece, and not a rehash of previous scifi stories I've read in the past.Thank you for the effort put into this tale, and I look forward to reading more of your work!

cassandrab: Delightful SciFi (for a change)! I am not a SciFi fan: mostly the genre is far too dystopic for me. This book (written by a high-school friend) is, on the other hand, generally upbeat. Yes, Earth's future is threatened. But Earth has a chance to plan a response. And (spoiler alert) ultimately win...

Hawkebat: Playing both Kotor I & II and Swtor I found the story line interesting and it held me until chapter 35 Very good story and plot flow until then, very few technical errors. I felt that the main character was a bit under and over powered, as it fought for balance. The last few chapters felt too f...

taosgw74: If this is the authors first attempt at writing, I'm floored. I was engrossed in the plot from the get go.

heavyreader: great scifi novels but needs a better spell checker (check auto-substitution level) and grammar checker!!! otherwise, ready for mass market publishing!!

Leah Brown: This was an amazing read! I was hooked from the very first chapter, holding my breadth to see what would happen next. The characters are rich and vibrant, and the world Danielle has created is fascinating. If you love YA, you MUST read this book. Such a smart, brilliant debut novel. I loved it!

internathunal: I was held captive by your sense of style. I would love to see more from you. I enjoyed this immensely.

Roger A. Fauble: Excellent read, the only thing not to like is that I could only read it at home on my computer. I'm a character reader, I get into the characters, their story, who/what they are. In this story characters are introduced and developed allowing you to really get into them. Next the story is develop...

idk956180: Great story with an amazing plot and wonderful characters with very interesting back stories ,didn't stop reading until I finished it.Has a few a errors but nothing detrimental to the story. I'm very much in love with with the plot , it's the thing I found most impressive about this story, anyone...

dragonswilleise: I loved this book, it was nearly impossible to put down from start to finish. It was fast passed without being overwhelming and slowed down where needed. Overall this was an amazing novel that I will definitely recommend to others.
