Lizzie slept a lot the next day and woke up late in the afternoon. She rolled to her good side and hobbled her way to the door. As she pulled it open she saw an envelope on the floor with her name typed on it. It was folded and crumpled like it had been sitting in a back pocket for a while. She gingerly picked it up and sat down at her desk. Inside was a letter with a long smear of old ribbon ink at the bottom.

Dear Miss Elizabeth Diane Reilly,

The Council is pleased to inform you of your promotion to the rank of Acolyte. Please report on Monday, September 4th at 7:30AM for assignment. You are permitted one small suitcase and one personal bag for your flight. Hunter Branch will meet you upon your arrival in Boston.
