Queen of Dreams

Please do listen to "Cassandra" by Two Steps From Hell when reading this

Whenever you go to sleep, you have two options. Either you “just” sleep and wake up and have the same boring, colorless day you have every day. But first, you have your routine when you go to bed. You close your eyes, you see nothing, fall asleep and wake up to the same dull, grey world as every day before.
Or you can follow Cassandra, Queen of Dreams. She can guide you past crystal-clear oceans, enormous waterfalls, ancient forests, large castles and landscapes of other worlds. You will close your eyes and an explosion of colors will appear before your eyes as Cassandra appears in her starry gown and smiles at you. She will greet you with a courtesy, as she always does, and smirk. Impatient for your next adventure. Quickly you will get up from you uncomfortable bed and you will step out of the grey and dull world you live in.

Here we go.
You can feel your heartbeat rising.
Let your story begin.
You are ready.
Slowly the music rises.

Grace follows wherever Cassandra goes, all the days of her life. Grace and passion. Fearsome passion, burning like a fire out her deep eyes which still behold the wonder of the creation of the first adventure of the first dream. Her bouncing, autumn, flaming red hair smells like roses and her smile is like the first day of Spring. Her voice is soft like a summer breeze. But do not upset her, for she will grow cold like winter and is difficult to unfreeze.

Together with Cassandra you can have all the adventures you ever wanted. You do not have to doubt. There is not one single reason why you should doubt yourself. For Cassandra believes in you. She knows you can do it. She has brought you to those people, because you are their savior. They have been waiting ever so long for you to arrive. Waiting in pain. Waiting in darkness. Waiting without sunlight. Without hope. Without a reason to go on. Desperately trapped, without any chances of being saved. But then you arrive. With your weapon firmly in your hand. Cassandra by your side. The people’s hearts are lifted. Smiles show on their faces again. Finally! Hope has returned at last. They will rejoice and sing once more.

You can be the King of your land, or the Queen of your realm. You can cross the seven seas, or dig through the layers of the Earth. You might travel to stars, or stop them from falling. You can fly dragons, wield swords, ride a Hippogriff or defeat a minotaur. Or do all in one day!
You can be who you want.
You can see who you want.
You can become the hero you admired when you were young.
You are the hero!

All you have to do is take her hand and follow her through time and space. To the place she knows you belong. To the place where your fears are slayed and your victory is celebrated with a feast that lasts a month. With music. Wine. Laughter.

This might all seem to be too good to be true. But every word of this is true. Some people forget Cassandra as they grow older. They say it is a fairytale. They say she does not exist. But the truth is they have grown scared. Afraid of the unknown. Afraid of pain. Afraid of death. Afraid of adventures. Who are they, to achieve great things? Who are they to be the savior? Who are they to do any of those things or go to any of those places?
Never believe those people. They have lost their colors. They have failed their people. They have lost Cassandra and therefore are lost themselves. But if you believe in yourself and if you can still see the colors – you are the hero!

Dwarfs. Elves. Mighty warrior and gods. All will come to your bidding and follow you into your battle. You will slay ogres, giants and evil creatures from the underworld. Nothing is impossible. All you have to do is trust in yourself and go the extra mile. Go the path, Cassandra has set out for you. The path you were born to go. Go through the Dark Forest. Cross the Ocean of Mischief. Slay the Nightmare. Pull the sword out of the stone. Break the curse. And be that hero the people need. Be crowned the golden crown. The celebrated hero who’s name will never be forgotten. Who’s great story will be sung by a thousand voices.

Do not fear to be awake. For you need to regain your strengths. Your strengths for the next adventure you will have tonight.
Cassandra will wait for you.
Your people are waiting for you.
Are you ready?

Samuel Garbett: I love the style.I love the setting.I love the atmosphere. You've tapped into something fantastic here, from the clearly invested-in characters down to the language used to portray the genre perfectly.I'd consider myself hooked.

Truemy Brewer: Great first chapter! You tell the story dramatically, but not overly and with just the right amount of words.. There is no cut in the action. I do wonder at the ladies male friend from the village, and what happened to him, but I suppose that will be revealed later. This seems like an epic in the...

internathunal: I was held captive by your sense of style. I would love to see more from you. I enjoyed this immensely.

Chris Rolfe: BOY!!! I sure love what Aer-Ki Jyr did with this series. IMHO he captured the essence of what stargate is all about. Thru out the Stargate stories Aer-Ki wrote Stevens and John Shepard some of the main characters in his stories are pursued by a corrupt I.O.A.. All the while Stevens is changing in...

Angel S. Adames Corraliza: Sensational! As a fan of superheroes, I have to say, you have a real winner of a story so far. I like that you made Allison a Wonder Woman expy, but kept her likable and relate-able in this first chapter. You showed us the Mother while also glancing at the Superhero, which I think is important to...

_JosephJacobson_: I don't understand why this has such low ratings. I really enjoyed it!I think that the whole idea behind the plot had something very special and that was something that I really enjoyed. It was new, unique. I think that some of the writing was a little strange in places but overall it made sense ...

Raymond Keith Moon: Great story arc. Nice command of the balance of overview and detail. Feels a bit like a multi-player computer game, but provides satisfying explanations for all the apparent magic. Please keep writing!

Ben Gauger: Kudos go to wordworrywill, author of Kings and Things, an otherwise imaginative tale set against the trappings of the royal set, but then again I don't imagine there'd be many authors who invoked the names of Oprah Winfrey, Vladimir Putin, Jeff Bezos, Beyonce and Steven Spielberg, As for the plot...

AlexaDria: Well I'll be darned! I don't remember the last time I enjoyed a story/novel/book/thing that much! I enjoyed it so much that I finished it in a little over 10 hours... oops! I honestly can't wait to find and read the next one! I want more!!!

John Smith: This is what Sci Fi is all about. Reads like early Heinlein. In the style of Space Cadets. No esoteric problems..but good ol blaster and space action with a host of relatable characters

hypaalicious: This story follows two main characters, Zoey and Derek, on a winding adventure that sucks you in from the beginning. It was easy to get into and get a feel for the world that the author is projecting, as well as all of the warring factions and difference of ideals that would otherwise be very co...

Meri Amber: The plot is creative, fun and addictive! The writing is superb and the characters are really well put together. Definitely highly recommeded!

Michael L. Blood: It took only a few paragraphs to "hook me" and keep me riveted throughout the remainder of the story. I have read very little if any "short stories" since "Dandelion Wine" and my freshman year in college in the early 70s - this one measures up with the best of them. The author assumes some de...

Hawkebat: Playing both Kotor I & II and Swtor I found the story line interesting and it held me until chapter 35 Very good story and plot flow until then, very few technical errors. I felt that the main character was a bit under and over powered, as it fought for balance. The last few chapters felt too f...
