Season II Chapter 28: Convergence Part 2

Kyle’s POV

I’d thought that what had just happened was out of this world; but little did I know, things were about to get over a hundred times weirder.

Almost as soon as things had gone black, I’d regained consciousness. There was a prominent stinging pain in my neck. As my eyes slowly opened, I moved my hand to the origin of said pain. I pulled something out, and slowly stood up before looking at it. It was some sort of epipen I think.

“I see Edison’s serum worked. I’m still in awe at how he always knows these type of things.” the man said

His statements were lined with faint traces of a british accent; which I’ll admit I didn’t pick up on at first. I think my brain was just trying to take in everything that happened; because I was speechless. Up until now I hadn’t even looked the individual in the face.

I turned to say thank you, but... things got much weirder from there.

“Romaine?” I questioned myself

“Huh? Well- yes. That is my name. I suppose there must be an alternate version of myself here then.” he responded

At first I didn’t consider what he said. I hadn’t taken things in yet.

“Have I already missed the event?” he questioned

I assumed he was talking about whatever the hell we’d just did.

“You just missed it.”

“Hm. How irritating; Guess I came here for nothing then.”

I scanned him up and down, taking note of his apparel, stature and overall figure. His body posture was better than Romaine’s, by a long shot. He was wearing a black jacket suit, for whatever reason; oddly formal. I don’t know, he looked just as in shape as Romaine, I guess?

“Something wrong?” He questioned

“Who..are you?”

“Hm..” He started, “Well It’s not like this would be some kind of enemy territory, so I see no harm in telling you.”

“You can call me Prince Green for now.”

“Uh- what?”

“Well it doesn’t matter anyway.” He said, “I best be going now.”

Before I had time to respond, Dondre had raced up to the two of us.

“What’d I miss?” He asked

“Everything.” I said sharply

He glanced over to the individual.

“Romaine? What’s with the weird getup? Got a date or something?”

“Actually, yes. And I had to leave it to come; turns out I missed the purpose of me coming here in the first place.”

“What’s he talking about?” Dondre whispered

“No idea.” I responded

He started to fiddle with his watch. He was there for a while, before he finally spoke back to us.

“Damned watch.” He mumbled, “It looks like I’ll be here for a while.”

“Why is that?” I asked

“My means of transport is.. temporarily disabled.”

“Then you mind explaining how you got here?”

“Now now.” he hushed, “As Edison always tells me, there’s a time and place for everything. Now, take me to your associates and I can explain everything.”

Dondre and I exchanged hesitant looks. Eventually I subtly nodded and turned back to the individual.

“Sure thing.. Dondre here will take you.”

He gave a partial grin.

Dondre carried the two of us all the way to the elevator, one after the other.

When he’d arrived with the new guy, the ‘Prince’, didn’t seem to enjoy the experience much.

“What the bloody hell was that?” he muttered, hunched over trying not to vomit.

“You’ll get used to it.” I smirked, trying to resist the slight urge to regurgitate.

Dondre joined me in discreetly mocking the ‘Prince’s’ reaction.

The doors opened, and we were greeted by Cas; just as confused as the rest of us.

“Kyle, Dondre, what the hell happened out there?” she questioned

“You saw the camera feed, you tell us.” I rebutted

“All the cameras went out, along with your comms. All I have are satellite recordings.”

“Not much of a difference; you still saw it. So tell us, what the hell happened?”

“I think I, might be able to answer your questions.” said the prince, stepping from behind us

“Romaine?” she questioned

“Correct again. But not who you think.” he said

“No, I saw you get sucked up into that... whatever it was.”

“I take it you saw your version of me get taken, but I’m from a completely different timeline; an alternate universe in-fact.”

“Kyle?” she looked at me

“Don’t look at me, I’m just as confused as you are.” I said

“As I’ve said, I have the answers to most, if not all, of your questions.”

“Let’s start with who you are and what you’re doing here.” I stated

“Ok then. I am Prince Romaine Green, heir to the throne of Jamaica, and soon to be it’s 7th ruler.”

The three of us exchanged weird and confused looks. But this was only the beginning.
