Killing off the Queen (and King)

I walk out of the room and pick up my phone. I dial Rehen’s number, and wait.

Briiing… Briiing… Briiin-

“Hello?”

“Hey Rehen. There’s a problem…”

“Ok, are you gonna tell me, or are you going to make me guess.”

“It’s Jake… He’s…”

“Did he break up with Celeste? That’s great bud!”

“What? No-wait they were dating? Doesn’t matter, Jake is dead!!!!”

“…”

“Rehen?”

*Thump*

“Oh. My. Gosh. Rehen did you just faint? Well, if he did he isn’t going to answer me.” Facepalming myself, I hung up the phone.

“I-I need to tell Celeste. Oh I hope she doesn’t faint too.”

I raise my phone and call her. Putting my phone to my ear I hear Celeste answer immediately.

“Hey James, I’m glad you called. I was actually just about to call you to tell you that I’m sor- Ahhhhhh!!! Oh my gosh!!! Rehen! Are you ok? Rehen!?!”

“Celeste. I need to tell you something. Rehen is fine, he just fainted.”

“No! There’s blood everywhere!”

“Oh my gosh! I’m coming right over.”

I put my phone in my pocket and headed over. “I can’t believe this! First Jake and now Rehen!”

“What happened to Jake?!” I heard a tiny voice say in my pocket.

Oh no. I picked up my phone and noticed I never hung up! “Uh Celeste, it’s nothing, it’s just a big misunderstanding. Don’t worry about it. I’ll tell you when I get there.”

“No. James you are going to tell me what is going on, right now.”

“Celeste, Jake was shot on the head. He’s dead.” I quickly state.

I hear a soft wail on her end and her dropping to the floor.

By now I was near their house and so I hang up and begin running.

I bust into the room and see Celeste balled up on the floor with tears streaming down her face.

It stings a little that she cares so much about him. I walk over to her a little resentfully.

“Celeste, you okay?”

She lifted her face, all red with tears, “He’s gone!” Then she burst into tears again.

I walk over to her slowly and sit besides her.

I’m about to say something, but out of the corner of my eye I see a hand. “Rehen!”

Celeste jerks her head up and remembers about her cousin laying on the ground.

She scurries over to him and picks up his hand. “Rehen! Wake up!”

Surprisingly there is a little bit of stirring from him. Wait. He’s sitting up! “Rehen! How are you all right! ?”

He looked at puzzled. “What do you mean? I just fainted when you said he died…” Trailing off at the end, he looked down sadly.

I look down to his lap and see a bottle of ketchup. “Oh my gosh. Celeste, he’s fine. It wasn’t blood, he just spilled the ketchup when he fainted.”

“Oh.” She blushes embarrassed.

Rehen just began laughing hysterically. “You guys thought I was bleeding! Haha!”

Rolling my eyes I scold him. “Rehen it’s not funny. We were worried sick about you.”

“Gosh you sound like my mom.” Then we all start laughing.

It’s amazing how laughter can make you forget about all the pain and hurt in the world. If everyone just stopped and laughed… I imagine the world would be a better place.

Queen Kina’s POV

“Yes. I don’t care if you have to blow up the entire building. I want them dead!”

“Yes your majesty.”

“Now, I paid you a lot of money, if you don’t succeed I’m going to have to end it. And by it you know I mean you.”

“Yes ma’am.”

I stare at the handsome man before me. I can’t believe I have a human on my ship. I should kill him now. But I need him for my plan.

He was native to Earth, but shortly after birth he was taken by our colony and trained. He is our best bounty hunter, but he had disappeared a while before Celeste did. And I’m the only one who knows why.
“Ok. You had your fun, now go!” I yell at the man to leave my colony.

“You don’t understand-”

“What I don’t understand it why you are still standing here. Leave me.”

“Yes ma’am.”

I watch as he walks out of my throne room. Ugh I need better company.

Standing up, I wave one of my guards to me. I whisper something in his ear and walk away.

I head to my room and draw myself a bath. Ten minutes later the guard walks in and gives me what I asked for.

“Thank you.” I tell him as he walks off.

I picl one from the assortment of bath bombs and place it in the bath tub. I watch mesmerized as it slowly dissolves.

Bath bombs are a thing of Earth and they have started becoming popular in my colonies. But, only the really rich can afford them because it requires sending someone to Earth.

I step into the warm water and relax.

*CRASH*

A loud crashing noise pulls me from my calm state.

I rush out of the bath tub and throw on my feather robe.

Running out of my room I am face to face with the bounty hunter whom I had just sent away.

“What are you doing here!?” I hiss out through gritted teeth.

“I’m here to show you.” It just dawns on my that he is covered with blood and he seems to be holding something behind his back.

Pulling his hands around he shows my the King and Queen’s wedding rings. “It is done.”

“Good job.” I say staring in amazement. “See how a little motivation can help you succeed?”

I move closer to him and whisper in his ear, “I know you love her, Axel, but she is next.”
