Newfound Love

Emma’s POV

“Get away from me!!!!” I screamed as I turned and tried to run away.

The creature from behind the dump truck was chasing after me!

I ran, but then there was a beam of light shining down on me, and suddenly I was in a tiny cell.

“Let me go!” I screamed, barely getting the words out of my mouth between my sobs.

Then another alien came and said some things that I didn’t understand, then held up a gun.

“No, no, n-”

James’ POV

I’m James. I am eighteen and I...

“Have no idea what else to put on my English paper.” I said banging my head against my desk.

“Class. Look up here please.”

I looked up to see my English teacher gesturing towards the door.

“We have a new student in class, and I want you to all be very welcoming.”

Please be a boy, please be a boy, please be a b-

Just then the most beautiful girl I have ever seen walks into the room causing me to loose all train of thought.

“Class, this is your new student, Celleste.”

Celleste. What a beautiful name.

I look at her and she is giving a shy smile while slightly looking at the ground. She had the most beautiful brunette hair, and sparkling hazel eyes.

I found my self staring at her, and then, we made eye contact. She blushed, and I’m sure I did as well, in that split second. But, stupidly I immediately looked down at my notebook and scribbled on it, hoping she didn’t notice me.

I took a quick glance around at the other boys in the class and saw they all were staring. I mean, how could they not.

The teacher showed where she would be sitting, and she was about to sit next to me when, the teacher realized that that was Lacy’s seat. Who was absent today.

How I hated that Lacy. Even absent, she ruined my life.

The teacher showed her to the last available seat, and just my luck, it was next to the most popular guy in school.

His name was Jake. He was the captain of the basketball team. She would like him for sure.

Well, there goes my dream girl.

I watched as she sat down and situated her stuff.

I was done for.

“James. James. James!”

“What?!” I said sitting up.

“Class is already over, you’re gonna be late.” My English teacher said.

I looked around. Everyone was gone!

“Byeee...” I said grabbing my stuff and running out of the classroom.

When I ran into my next class, I threw my stuff on the floor and sat down in my seat just in time for class.

“Can I call Rehen?” I said asking my teacher, still situating my stuff.

Rehen is my best friend. We’ve known each other for as long as I could remember.

“Sure, whatever.” My math teacher said not taking her eyes off of her phone. She was my favorite teacher. She never gave us any work and she didn’t care what we did in her class.

I opened my flip phone and dialed in his number. Rehen was at home today because he had a stomach bug.

“Hey” I heard Rehen on the other side of the line. His voice sounded tired and I figured I woke him from a nap.

“Sorry, did I wake you?”

“Nah, your fine, but there better be a good reason.”

“Can I come over later? I have important news.”

“What is it?”

“Can’t say, I need to tell you at your house...”

“Fine, but now I’m scared.”

“You’ll be fine” I said as I ended the call.

I put my phone in my pocket and got out a notebook and my pencils as I stared sketching the new girl, sneaking small glances when I knew she wasn’t looking.

She always seemed to have a calm content look on her face, but I could still see a small amount of fear and stress. She did a good job of hiding it.

Emma’s POV

I woke up to a bright light in my eyes. I blinked several times trying to adjust my eyes. Once they adjusted I noticed I was in and all white room with a few gold leaves painted on the walls. There was a small white leather couch with gold legs. I felt the ground and noticed I was sitting on a small, oval, white fluffy rug. The rest of the floor was shinny white tile with what seemed like crystal specks shining through.

I stood up sorely and walked over to the mirror. That’s when I realized what I was wearing. I wore a white, silky dress that went all the way down to my ankles, that had a gold rope belt around my waist that matched the bracelet on my wrist. My hair was down but had a gold star hair clip holding back a strand of my hair. Then I noticed long gold earrings that had three metal strings hanging down. At the end of one of the strings was a shooting star, the other has a spaceship, and the other had planet that resembled Saturn.

I heard a knock on the wall as a small section of the wall slid to the side reminding me of a door. Then I heard a males voice

“Take her to the queen.”

What?!? I tried to say, but my mouth wouldn’t cooperate. Ugh.

An alien like creature came in and grabbed my wrists.

He led my into another room that similar to the room I had just been in, except it was bigger and had two big thrones in the front.

The lady in the biggest chair was probably the queen they were talking about, but when I looked the the smaller throne next to her I saw what looked like a human. He looked to young to be the king, but something about him just made my heart stop. Maybe it was his slightly long sandy blonde hair or his small dimples.

What was this?! I had butterflies in my stomach and I could feel my face heating up.

But, I couldn’t take my eyes away from him, when he turned his head from who I think was his mother, and locked eyes with me.

I stared deep into his bright blue eyes as he blushed the slightest bit and waved his hand slightly. His mother turned and scolded him then turned back to face me.

But no matter how many times she said,

“Celeste, look at me.”

And no matter how many times I thought in my mind,

Who’s Celeste?

I couldn’t take my gaze away from him.

I had to know his name. What name could go with his perfect face.

I jerked my head to a hot headed queen, and I swallowed saying,

“Who’s Celeste?”
