Introduction

This book holds a collection of short stories written from personal experience over the last nine months during the Covid 19 lockdown.

The first story, 'An Amazing Medical Discovery', was born out of the shocking news that at some time in the past two years I had suffered a heart attack and a stroke without the slightest sign of having done so. The story is an attempt to turn a negative into a positive.

The story is of a man called Steve who discovers during a routine health check that all is not as it should be with his heart. At some time in his long past Steve underwent an experience which changed his life forever.

Now, at 150 years old, Steve recounts the story of his long, long life and how he got to be so old.

The second story, 'A Strange Meeting On A Park Bench On My Birthday', is a story of how a man called William goes out for birthday stroll at a local park and encounters a man who seems to be his deceased father as well as a son who he has been estranged from for many years. It is a very emotional story of discovery and loss, tinged with a sparkle of hope for a future reunion with both his father and his son.

The third short story, 'An Incredible Journey', is about a man who during a time of grief for the loss of his mother discovers that an old leather flying jacket belonging to his long since deceased father, has the magical property of transporting him back in time. This gives him the idea to see if he can go back in time to change past events for his parents to have had a better life.

The fourth story, 'ET Contact', is about a man called Marcus who chances upon a connection with a man who is not of this planet. The Elder, as the alien is called, wants to employ Marcus to get a message across to influential people in an attempt to get humans to change their ways to save the planet.

The final story is a very short tale of a man discovering how much his wife loves him and how that love will endure for eternity
