A war is coming. Just not the war everyone expected. The dictatorship known as the Axis Dynasty is collapsing, torn apart by the two people who once lead it. Avalis and Remus Axis. A civil war is starting over the rights of the Numbers, who were oppressed by the Dynasty. And on top of that the deadly, Number-killing virus that Avalis released continues to be a threat to the Numbers when Avalis hoards the vaccine and cure. Indie sees the war as a chance for change and she's willing to do just about anything to obtain it, especially after everything the Dynasty has done to her and those she cares about. But, this change means she has to be willing to trust her uncle Remus and turn her back on her own mother and sister. Everything comes with a price attached.

The Book of Regeneration

The Axis Dynasty, our regal and great country, has drafted this book for the purpose of educating its citizens about the history of their noble efforts to eradicate the Numbers for the safety of all citizens. The Book of Regeneration is a book of law and history. It shall be a mandatory reading for all citizens living in the free world.

A reading from The Book of Regeneration: “It was with great triumph that the founder and savior of the Axis Dynasty, Demetria Axis, first wiped clean the abandoned island of Manhattan and rebuilt it from the ground up to contain the Numbers. It was she who first secured the peace for our people and if war shall ever burden the back of this country again the fault will be of the Numbers. For it is they who wish to see us fall.”

SandraHan1: This story is very descriptive, with vivid scenes from the very beginning, which made for a good scene setting. I love the symbolism in names, such as “Naysayers”, “Hadd”, etc . The story itself is revolutionary, intriguing, emotional and exciting. I was very pleased to see that there is a happy ...

Jasmine Chow: As I read this story, I was reminded some what of Terry Pratchett, especially some descriptions of politics and economics. The sci-fic setting is quite intriguing. Writing style is quite lovely and grew on me slowly. I was also slightly reminded of Mark Twain, especially his book A Connecticut Ya...

Rebecca Weller: This book is gritty, and not for the faint of heart, as far as what you can expect the heroine Layla is put through, and yet there is a compelling and tender love story wrapped up in the darkness. An easy flowing writing style, I was drawn to keep turning the pages to find out if Layla and Adonis...

Jason Phang: I'm pretty new to Inkitt (this is only my 4th book) and I must say I've been thoroughly impressed by the quality of the authors here. Remnants of Chaos is an excellently written book that hooks the reader, and doesn't let go. There are some grammatical and typographical errors, but nothing too se...
