Eyes wide, teeth-rattling and the wind howling, she ran faster. The sound of her feet hitting the ground and the loud thunder booming in her ears was enough to keep her moving. A flash of white in the corner of her sight made her scream but she kept on running, she needed to make it, she needed to live. Her eyes danced in front of her trying to find something that could help in her escape. It was getting closer and when her eyes landed on a telephone pole she knew, her hands raised and the sound of metal creaking and slicing filled the loud sky. As quick as she passed the pole she dropped her hands and the pole sliced through the air as it fell. She breathed out in relief, thinking that she was now safe but she was brought to the ground with a smack.
Her mouth opened up in a scream, searing pain in her left leg made her brain shut down and her eyes quickly close. The sound of lightning, the burning flesh and the smell of failure drifting through the air.
