Chapter 18

Jensen’s POV

She laid her head in my lap and fell asleep almost immediately as soon as I put my arms around her. I knew that this whole experience had been exhausting on her and I couldn’t wait for it to be over. As she laid there I stroked her hair and smiled. I have only had these feelings once in my life and I never thought I would have them again. I knew that I was going to do everything I could to keep her safe, even if it meant giving my life for hers. I finally closed my eyes and drifted off to sleep holding Lynn in my arms.

When I opened my eyes again the cabin lights were dimmed and it was dark outside the plane. Lynn was still asleep in my lap and I could feel the tingling as I realized my legs were asleep. Damn, I didn’t want to wake her, but I really needed to get up and move around. I gently lifted her head and slid out from under her. As I laid her head down on the couch her beautiful eyes opened and looked up at me. “Where are you going?” Her voice cracked out at me almost in a panic. I softly stroked her hair and kissed her forehead.

“I’m just going to walk around for a few minutes love. My legs are asleep.” She smiled and then closed her eyes again. She was back asleep in no time.

Dillion was passed out in one of the chairs and he looked way too comfortable, but I decided that since we were the only ones on the plane besides the flight crew it was alright. I walked past him and headed to the restroom. The flight attendant was sitting in the crew seats reading a magazine, as I approached the restroom she smiled at me. “Did you need anything, Mr. Daniels?” I shook my head at her.

“Yes, can you make some coffee please.” She nodded and I went into the restroom. When I came out she handed me a hot cup of coffee and then turned back to her work station and made another cup. At first, I thought she was making it for herself until I looked up and saw Lynn sitting up looking out the window. She had a blanket wrapped around her and looked as if she was in deep thought.

I took the other cup of coffee from the attendant and headed up to the front of the plane. I walked up to Lynn and handed her the cup of coffee as I sat down next to her. “Thank you.” She said as she turned and smiled at me.

“I’m sorry if I woke you up babe. I tried to be quiet.” She shook her head at me.

“You didn’t. I had a bad dream.” I wrapped my arm around her shoulders and pulled her close to me.

“What about?” I was hoping it wasn’t about Catherine again.

“It is stupid. I had a dream that Joseph got to me and had killed you. It is just my nerves.” She nuzzled herself closer to me and I could see that she was trying to make that thought disappear.

“Lynn, don’t worry about me. I can handle Joseph and I promise you he will never find you.” She nodded and I saw her relax a little bit. I could see her eyes starting to get heavy again, so I took her cup from her and set it on the table. “Lay back down Lynn. We still have about five more hours of flying before we get to Rome.” She turned her body from me and laid her head down on the other end of the couch. I was just about to lay my head back when the flight attendant came over.

“Sir if you want, you can push this button and the couch folds out into a bed.” She handed me a remote and walked away. I pressed the button on the remote and the couch started to move. I pulled Lynn next to me as the coach finished transforming into a bed. I laid down next to her and just held her. Soon I was fast asleep again.

Lynn’s POV

I woke up to the sun coming through the window above us and Jensen’s arms over me. It was then that I realized we were laying in a bed. What the hell? I said to myself. Then I noticed that it was the couch. I don’t remember when, but Jensen had folded the couch out into a bed. At least it was comfortable. The speaker came to life as the captain announced our descent into Rome. Jensen opened his eyes and looked at me. “Good morning. I think we should get up now. The captain just said we should be landing in thirty minutes.” He stared at me then smiled a really big smile. I loved seeing him smile.

“Okay Lynn, I will just fold the couch back.” He set up and pushed a button and the couch started to move back into couch form. I looked over and Dillion was still snoring in one of the huge chairs. I laughed as Jensen threw a pillow at him. “Hey, lazy fuck time to get up.” Dillion jumped and I just about died from laughter.

“I’m awake. Where the hell is the coffee?” As if the attendant knew what we all would want, she approached Dillion and gave him a cup of coffee and then brought us ours.

“Thank you,” I said to her and she just nodded at me. I guess she was still afraid of me from last night. Oh well, I guess she knew her place now. I sat and sipped my coffee as Dillion and Jensen talked. “Oh shit,” I said and Jensen turned to me.

“What’s wrong?” I grabbed the phone on the wall next to us.

“I forgot to call Delphina when we got on the plane.” I dialed the number and Delphina answered. “Hi Delphina, I am so sorry but we are landing in thirty minutes.” I heard her laugh on the other end of the phone.

“It is okay Lynn, I will send someone to meet you at the airport. I am so happy that you are here. I will see you soon and we will catch up.” I agreed and thanked her again then hung up. Jensen smiled at me again.

“Everything okay.” I nodded.

“She is sending someone to meet us at the airport.” He nodded at me then went back to his conversation with Dillion.

Thirty minutes later our jet was landing and we were unloading. As promised, there was a black limo waiting on the tarmac for us. Wow, I guess Delphina and Cornelius had some money. I really didn’t remember a lot about them, but I couldn’t wait to just finally be able to relax for a little bit. We climbed into the limo and the driver loaded our bags then we left. We drove for about twenty minutes, then turned into a driveway that came around to a big gate. The driver keyed in some numbers on a keypad and the gates slowly opened. As we drove up the driveway I looked out the window and was in complete aww. The house was absolutely beautiful and huge. This was big enough to house three families it seemed.

As we came to a stop the car door opened and a younger man was standing with his hand out for me. I took it and grabbed Jensen’s hand as I stepped out of the limo tugging him with me. “Oh my goodness, Lynn is that you?” A voice boomed from the stairs leading to the front door. I looked up and saw an older man with his arm around a woman. I knew that they had to be Delphina and Cornelius. They looked so cute together, like the perfect image of a loving couple. I ran up to them and embraced them both in a hug.

“Cornelius, Delphina. It has been way too long.” They both laughed and hugged me back. I heard someone clear his throat behind us and I quickly turned back to him. I rushed back to his side and smiled up at him. “Delphina, Cornelius, this is Jensen. He is the one that I was telling you about. Then we also brought Dillion with us. He will be staying with me while Jensen goes back to Chicago to handle some things.” They both looked shocked to see me in the arms of someone but only nodded.

“It is nice to meet you both. Now come on let’s get you three settled. How long will you be here for Jensen?” Cornelius said as he lead us into the house.

“I will only be here for two days then I must return, but I am hoping my business shouldn’t take long and I will be back.”

We spent the rest of the day getting settled into our rooms and relaxing by the pool. I absolutely loved both Delphina and Cornelius. I never knew why I didn’t get to come back to see them after my mother died. I decided not to dwell on it and try to enjoy the next few days with Jensen. “Jensen, I want to go see some of the sights with you before you go back.” I hollered at him from my lounge chair by the pool. He swam over to the side and pulled himself out of the pool. The water dripped off his glistening body as he walked over to me. He bent down and kissed me. The water fell onto my skin from his hair. My skin was on fire as his hand softly touched my arm making my heart start to race. He pulled away from me leaving me breathless, then sat down on the chair next to me.

“That sounds like a good idea. We will go in the morning.”

I stared at him in amazement. “You are simply evil Jensen. You get me all hot and bothered then just walk away like nothing happened.” He flashed me an evil grin as he laid his head back and put his feet up. I huffed in frustration and got up. I walked past him and felt his hand come across my ass. I jumped as I felt the slight sting from his palm. Then he grabbed me and pulled me down to him. I giggled and tried to fight him off.

“So I get you all hot and bothered huh? Well, I think that I should help you with that problem.” I smiled at him but pushed him off of me.

“Oh no, you don’t. I have to go help Delphina with dinner. Maybe if you behave yourself I will show you how hot and bothered you make me tonight.” He let me up and stuck his lip out at me. I laughed at him. “Are you pouting? The big, bad macho gangster is pouting at me. That’s funny. Now relax and put that lip away. Dinner will be ready in a little.” I bent down and kissed him then went inside to help with dinner. I was excited about the next day. I real wanted to see the sights and I couldn’t imagine doing it with anyone else.
