CHAPTER 11

“So where were we?” He asked sitting on the small couch in his office. “Where did you go?” “I ran. I live in a small town, I have a life a new family. I couldn’t stay here, not after everything that happened when I was younger. This place ruined me.”

He nodded, not looking at me. “I know. And I’m sorry for everything that happened to you. I don’t blame you for not coming back. Why are you here now?”

Sighing. “In my town we have a little problem. We have a couple rogue wolves that seem to be insane. They have killed people.” “Have you found them?” “No. I’ve come close to catching them, but they always seem to get away from me.” “Do you require help in finding them?” Shaking my head. “No. That is not why we are here. Those two that came with me are new wolves. Created by the rogues. They stay with me, they are my family now. I decided we should come here and see what that now means.” He thought about it for a moment.

“I should have been informed about the rogues, and I would have had them dealt with.” “I do not need help. I just need to know what this now means that I have two new wolves.” “You now have a pack. You are there Alpha. You need to pick a name for your pack. Sign some documentation, and you’re all set.” Nodding.

Sitting back, he has a ring on his finger. “So you have a mate? What’s she like?” “She’s wonderful. Her name is Amber. She’s not from his pack originally. She was in a bad way when I found her, I got her back here and took care of her. We’re expecting our first child actually.” “Congratulation’s. I am so happy for you.” “Thank you. What about you?” “I have found my mate. But he doesn’t quite know it yet.” He gave me a look. “What do you mean?” “It’s Logan, the new wolf with me.” “Interesting. What does he know about mates?” “Not much. He hasn’t been one of us for long, and this just kind of came out. I don’t know how to tell him.”

“You’ll get there. So now we have to get your pack up and running. You have to choose a name for your pack, and sign some documents, then we’re all set. You will be an Alpha of your own pack.” Nodding, I thought about a name while he pulled some papers.

“Have you chosen a pack name?” Nodding. “Red Moon pack.” “Excellent, you will have a design a crest, but that can come later on. Here you need to sign these, also your new pack members need to sign as well.”

Nodding I mind linked them.

“You two need to come in here.” “Coming.”

They both said, in unison then severed the link. He pulled something from his desk, setting the small box in front of me. “This is for you. I’ve had this since we were kids, I had wanted you to be my mate when we were younger, but I guess it all worked out.” “I guess it did.” Opening the box, sitting inside is an amazing ruby ring. “I can’t accept this. It’s way too much.”

I said trying to give it back, but he won’t take it. “It’s yours. It’s always been yours. I’m just glad I was able to finally give it to you.” “Thank you I love it.” It’s simple, but elegant, large ruby in the center in a gold setting. Someone started knocking on the door.

“Come in.” Logan and Wren came in, closing the door behind them. “Is everything all right in here?” Wren asked looking at me. “You two need to sign these papers, affirming that you three are now a pack.” “What?” Nodding. “Yes. The three of us are now a pack.” “Cool. Where do I sign?” Logan asked grabbing the pen off the desk. “Here, here and here.” I pointed to each spot.

“Perfect. Wren your turn.”

She nodded, not saying anything, just signed her name.

“Excellent. Now what are your plans?” “Well we were just going to head home after this.” “Why don’t you stay the night? We’re having a pack run tonight. You three should join us.” “What do you think you two?”

“Why not. It sounds like fun.” “I’m in.” Wren said shrugging. “Okay. I guess we’re staying.” “Great. I’ll have rooms made up for you upstairs.” “Thank you.” “Any time. You must be staved come.”

Following him to the kitchen, he pulled some containers from the fridge. “So where about are you from?” “No offence, but I’m not going to tell you that.” “I get it.” He said setting a plate down.

“Eat up and I’ll show you three around.” “I know my way around.” I muttered, playing with my food. “I know you do. But things have changed since you left.”

Setting my fork down.

“Things may have changed here, but it doesn’t change what happened to me all those years ago. I won’t ever forget, and neither will Mira. What they did to me almost killed her, and me.” Logan and Wren both looked at me, they know something happened to me, but I never told them, and I don’t plan to now.

They care about us. You have to trust them sooner or later with everything that happened to us.

I can’t do that, she’s know I can’t do that to them. I love them, but I can’t burden them with this, I won’t do it.

“Look Lil. I know what happened to you, I had no control over it. I don’t expect you to ever come back here, I just want you to know that it’s different around here, you can come back, whenever you want.”

“Thank you, but I don’t think that will ever happen.” Wiping my mouth, suddenly losing my appetite. “I need some air, you two get some rest before tonight. I’ll be back shortly.” Walking out the front door, jumping off the front porch, the change completed before my feet hit the ground. Running off in the forest.
