“Everyone listen up!” Erik yelled quieting his pack. “Tonight we have some visitors joining us. Please make them feel welcome while there here. We’re about to get under way. Everyone make the change.”
Logan Wren and I are together. Whispering to Wren. “Are you all right to change?” She nodded. “I’ll be fine. Thank you though.” “Have you found him yet?” “He’s here. I think he senses me, but we just can’t seem to find each other.” “You will.” We’re about to change, but her whole body stiffened. “He’s here.”
The three of us started searching the crowd, then this one guy came towards us, the same look in his eyes that Wren has. He’s still human. Shaggy brown hair, green eyes, decent body.
“Mate.” He said pulling her into his arms. “Mate.” She said wrapping her hands around him. “There so cute.”
I said taking Logan’s hand. “Hate to break you two up. But we have to change. We can talk after the run.” They broke apart, and both changed, he’s a large dark brown wolf, his eyes changed to gold, he licked Wren’s face and they waited for us. Logan waited for me, once my transition completed he changed and the four of us went to join the others. Erik howled and the rest of us joined and we’re off running into the forest, the wind through our fir and the earth pounding beneath our paws. This is what I live for.
After hours of running we got back to the village, everyone started to disperse to their own homes. I had forgotten what it was like to be on a run like that, with a pack. The five of us went to where we’re staying, Erik and Wren’s mate. Erik decided to join us when he found out about Wren finding her mate, in his pack.
The five of us changed back, and went inside. It’s three in the morning, but we’re all wired.
Sitting around the living room. “So what’s going to happen now?” Wren asked, taking my hand. “Well you will become part of our pack.” Erik said. “No! Not going to happen! I am not leaving Lilith and Logan. It won’t happen. I don’t care if we have to reject each other. I’m not staying here. I’m going back home.” “How do you know about rejecting our mate?” I asked looking at her. “Violet told me about it. I don’t want to do that, but if I don’t have a choice, then it’s something I will have to do.”
“You don’t have to do that. Morgen will go with you.” “I will?” “You will. I don’t want to lose you, but you can’t lose your mate. A mate is something you hold on to for dear life.”
Morgen nodded, smiling at Wren. “Yes Alpha.” “When will you leave?” “In the morning. I have to get back.” He nodded standing. “All right. Come Morgen. We have to prepare you to leave.” He nodded kissed Wren’s hand and followed Erik out.
“I can’t believe that. He just let him go.” “What I can’t believe is you refused to stay. Even threatened to reject him.” She shrugged. “I wasn’t about to leave you behind. The two of you are my family.” Hugging her. “Okay we need to get some sleep. We leave in the morning.” They nodded and went up to our room.
“So were you ever going to tell me about being able to reject our mate?” Logan asked closing the door. “I would have. I just didn’t know how to tell you. I mean, I wasn’t even sure how you were going to react to us being mates. Are you considering it?”
“No. Not at all. I just wish you had of told me about it.” Taking my hands, looking me in the eyes. “I will never reject you. We’re mates and will be together for a long, long time.” Smiling I kissed him, I really do love this man. I know it sounds crazy, but it’s how I feel right now.
It’s not crazy at all to feel like this. We have always meant to be together.
“Let’s get some sleep.” He said smiling at me. Going to the bathroom, I washed the dirt off, then allowed Logan in the bathroom. Climbing into bed, eyelids drooping as my head hit the pillow.
I barely felt the bed dip as Logan climbed in before sleep completely over took me.
