Beast In The Woods

Pulling into the garage I grabbed a load and walked into the house. Before I came home, I stopped at the hardware store, and got information and stuff to make plans to build them a house.

Setting my stuff down, there’s music playing, and the three of them are in the kitchen making dinner. “Hello. What’s going on in here?” “We’re making dinner.” Morgen said turning back to the stove.

“Okay. I still have some stuff to get. I’ll be back.” “I’ll help you.” Wren said following me back out to the car. “So what happened in town?” “There was another attack. Another woman was killed. I have the file and photos. Wren this one was bad. We have to find them, before they kill again.”

“I’m sorry Lil. Don’t worry, we’ll find them. I know we will.” We unloaded everything else from the car.

By the time we got the last bag unloaded, the guys finished making dinner. I could get used to this, the guys making food for us.

So will I. Logan is looking at us like we’re a piece of meat. We need to mark and mate with him soon; before we both go crazy.

Looking at him, she’s right, the look in his eyes; I can tell his wolf is in control right now. We can’t do this here.

Mind linking him, as I put the groceries away.

“Logan everything that is going on in your body right now is because you’re going through the urge to mate.”

“So what do we do about this? I don’t know how long I can deal with this.”

Smiling, I’m really starting to love this man.

“You’ll be fine. We’ll make it. But I have to go out after dinner. I have to find the wolves.”

“You are not going out there alone. Not after what happened last time.”

Sighing I grabbed a bottle of bear from the fridge and we sat down to eat. “So after dinner I’m going out for a while. I want you all to stay here and keep the door locked till I get back.” “Where are you going?” Morgen asked, setting his glass down. “Something has happened, and I need to go check it out.” “Do you need some help?” Shaking my head. “No, thank you. I need you to stay here with Wren and Logan, keep them both safe.”

I said giving him a look. He nodded, looking down. I guess technically I’m his Alpha now, and he has to do whatever I say.

This might not be so bad after all.

Wren and I cleaned up after dinner since the guys cooked for us. “Lil I really don’t want you to go out there on your own.” “Don’t worry. I’ll be fine. You don’t have to worry about me.” She pulled me into her arms, holding me close. “I will always worry about you Lil. You’re my family, and I love you.”

“I love you too Wren. I always will.”

Letting her go, I went to grab some weapons filled with silver, and went to the front door. “You three will not leave this house. As soon as I walk out the door, I want it locked, until I get back. Do you understand me?”

I said giving them all a look, settling on Logan, who nodded, not looking at me.

They all said in unison, smiling I walked out, closing the door behind me, waiting till I heard the lock click, then I kicked off my shoes and changed, running into the forest, searching for the wolves.

Where do we start our search for them? “Not sure. Anywhere we’ve looked before I haven’t found anything. But there are some caves we haven’t searched yet. We’ll start at the caves, and go from there. But we have to find them.” Running towards the cave I heard about, I just hope we find something there.

Logan tried to mind link, but I blocked him out. I can’t have him in my mind right now, not when I have a mission like this. Running faster, Logan has managed to push his way into my mind. How did he get through? He’s been a werewolf for like two minutes.

“Lil come on, you have to talk to me. Please let me help you. Just tell me where you are, and I’ll come help you.” “No. I have to do this on my own. I can’t let any of you get hurt. This is all on me.”

Severing the link, I picked up speed, and ran towards the caves.

Hitting that cave was a bust, they weren’t there, but there were signs that there was something living there; but there scents are almost non-existent.

Leaving the cave, I caught a slight whiff of wolf, following it, I caught movement, and lunged tackling it to the ground. Towering over the black wolf, it whimpered. A black wolf with silver eyes.

“Logan? What are you doing here?!”

“I came to help you. I caught your scent and followed you.”

Moving off of him, sitting there. I can’t believe he followed me out here. I told him to stay in the house where he was safe.

“The others stayed in the house right?”

“Yes. There still there. Did you find anything out here?”

“No. I believe they were at that cave, but there long gone.”

Pushing his with my head.

“Go back to the house. I’ll be back soon.”

“I’m not going anywhere without you. Where ever you go I go.”

“Fine. But you follow my lead.”

Severing the bond, we took off; heading further into the woods. I still can’t believe he did this, I told him not to follow me out here. This is my responsibility, not his. Catching a scent, we veered off, following it hopefully to the rogues.
