chapter 2

Seanna wasn’t picking up her phone it keeps going to her voicemail. Where in the hell could she be? I hope she isn’t doing something stupid. She kept asking about her mother’s death. It’s understandable that she is curious to want to know what happened with her mother. But I couldn’t tell her truth it will break her heart and it’s to painful for me. Although I have been out of prison for while it still feels like I’m still there. My thoughts go back to a couple of years ago.

“Just because I’m doing this doesn’t mean I forgive you for what had happened. Rowena’s daughter needs her father and as much as it pains me to say it, but she needs you in her life, not that you were a good father to begin with.”

He looks at me with that piercing golden eyes. It’s like looking into the sun and getting burn. I want to duck for cover but I can’t avert my gaze. He laughs a sinister laugh and it fills the room. I just want to get out of here. He sits with his left hand under his chin and looks at me intently and has a sadistic smile on his face.

″Hmm, have nothing to say Handriel ? Well you could at least thank me for getting you out of jail.″ He said as his eyebrows raised expectantly.

I finally avert my eyes away from his stare and manage to say the words. I cleared my throat and barely breathed out the word.

″Thank You.″

‴I’m sorry I couldn’t hear you correctly could you rephrase that please?″ he said with a innocent look on his face he is enjoying toying with me. I cleared my throat and balled my hands into fists but refused to raise them. I’m doing this for Seanna.

″Thank you for getting me out of jail.”

He smiles and claps his hands in mock amusement and says, ″Such a good boy, now Handriel that wasn’t so hard was it? Just a little appreciation to make us thankful for the things we are given. Now I want you to listen to me very carefully.”

He came nearer to me and grab my face in his hands, we were so close that I could hear him breathing heavily and see the look of hatred more clearly now than ever before.

“Now do consider this mercy and consider yourself lucky that I didn’t kill you, but your day will come and I will relish in your demise Handriel.” he said while he released the hard grip on my face. He stepped back and tried to compose himself.

″But for now I don’t ever want to see your face again.” He turned and left leaving the room devoid of any warmth .I had to sit down to calm myself and hoped that I never would see him again.

But I guess I will see him again I just hope Seanna didn’t get herself into trouble why does she has to be so persistent.
