Summary

His one hand engulfed her elbow and nosed moved to her ear, making it tingle and sensitive to his exhales. When he spoke, his voice was like darkest murmurs of night, nothing yet everything! '' Look at me!'' She held her breath and met those obsidian gems, thousands of emotions swirled in them. And her thoughts again nudged her, whispering ― see! See beyond the flesh and bones. See deep, graze the insides. His eyes brows pinched together as if his feelings were running too wild and he needed a moment to process them. He lowered his eyes, as if shy of this, their intensity. those lowered lids shielded his orbs and her heart screamed, screamed not to hide them. For a moment she felt him withdraw - NO, NO, DON'T GO! It was her heart that was beating now and when he raised his eyes again. She saw a look pass through them. Her eyes went wide and sudden realization left her weak in knees. These eyes, they were Night itself. Darkest night with snuffed out stars and abandoned by the moon. These lashes wet with tangles of intolerable dreams. She exhaled a long-held breath and thought pensively, these were eyes of a once lost dreamer. They were his eyes and his only and her salvation. He pressed a light kiss on her ear and spoke, '' Tell me qalbi!'' a long paused stretched through them, '' Do I still disgust you?''

His eyes, it was his eyes that had her breathless years ago. Those obsidian gems― darkest. They reminded her of something, something she couldn’t interpret. Every night she looked into sky and tried to figure them out. Years now after so many years she stood here again, looking in them. He came close so smoothly as shadow slithering through alcoves. She could see tangles of his lashes fluttering now, they fluttered like wings of a butter fly— slow & deliberate, as if he knew the effect he was casting. She opened her mouth to stop him but words left her when their gaze met. She should avert her eyes, walk right out of those dark double doors, right back to her house all the way in her room and never look out of window again. But it was those eyes, they would be her death.

His finger tips grazed her cheek bones, slipped down their hollows and rested on her jaws. Warmth slithered to her backbone making her arch and release a sigh, her lids lowered. She stopped herself with every bone in her body from nestling his coarse and very warm palm. Only years of cold indifference and steadfastness aided her. He leaned down and his nose skimmed over her features, a shudder rolled through her. His soft breaths washed over her, slipping beneath skin and lighting something inside and those kindles of fire leaped again with it.

His one hand engulfed her elbow and nosed moved to her ear, making it tingle and sensitive to his exhales. When he spoke, his voice was like darkest murmurs of night, nothing yet everything!

‘’ Look at me!’’

She held her breath and met those obsidian gems, thousands of emotions swirled in them. And her thoughts again nudged he, whispering ― see!

See beyond the flesh and bones. See deep, graze the insides. His eyes brows pinched together, as if his feelings were running too wild and he needed a moment to process them, lowered his eyes, as if shy of this their intensity, shielding those orbs and her heart screamed, screamed not to hide them. For a moment she felt him withdraw — NO, NO, DON’T GO!

It was her heart that was beating now and when he raised his eyes again. She saw a look pass through them. Her eyes went wide and sudden realization left her week in knees.

These eyes, they were, Night itself. Darkest night with snuffed out stars and abandoned by moon. These lashes wet with tangles of intolerable dreams. She exhaled a long-held breath and thought pensively, these were eyes of once lost dreamer. They were his eyes and his only and her salvation.

He pressed a light kiss on her ear and spoke,

‘’ Tell me qalbi!’’ a long paused stretched through them,

‘’ Do I still disgust you?’’
