Chapter 5: Now or Never

Me and Daisy sat at the balcony. She was done making her flower crown. A mixture of pink tulips and white carnations. The rest of the flowers she arranged it in a vase. I on the other hand is still finishing up my flower crown. Daisy taught me how to make one earlier. It was hard at first, I had cuts all over my fingers. The torns on the roses really made their purpose.

Finally, my flower crown was done. Daisy inspected it and told me that I did a good job. She took it from the table and made me wear it. She smiled when she saw the flower crown on my head.

"There you go... You look beautiful... Now let's make a bouquet for you." she took the rest of the flowers and started arranging them. I looked at the two men that are leaning on the railing of the balcony.

"The full moon is next week... How's her diet?" I heard Heather said

"It's doing good... She doesn't question it..." my brows furrowed. I couldn't understand what they were saying. Before I can hear more of their conversation, I heard Daisy squeal. I looked at her direction and saw her holding the bouquet. She gave it to me and smiled. Why is she always smiling at me?

"Fit for a bride... You look amazing, Sylvia..." my name sounded normal to her. It's like she used to say it all the time. She clapped her hands. She pulled me in a hug and said,

"I'm so happy you're back, Sylvia... I really missed you... I'm so happy that you found your way back to Sandro..." I couldn't understand anything she said. I was so confused I didn't know what to say. What the hell is happening? She pulled away and said,

"I have good news... Remember the time we told each other our dreams?" I didn't reply cause I didn't know what she was talking about. Our dreams?

"You told me that you wanted to be an artist... I still had your drawings with me. I still kept them..." I saw unshed tears in her eyes. For some reason, I felt sad. I held her hand to comfort her. I didn't know why she knew my dream. Me and Zyra used to talk about that when we were kids. She's the only person that knows that. I don't know how Daisy knew it.

"But before you can... Something happen..." my eyes widened as I saw tears stream down her eyes. I pulled her in my arms and rubbed her back. It felt normal to comfort her. I didn't know why but it felt... Like it was normal.

A few minutes passed and she finally calmed down. I heard her take a deep breath and pull away from me.

"Sylvia... I want to tell you this good news... I want you to be the first one to know this since you are my bestfriend."

The next words that came out of her mouth shocked me. A smile made its way to my face and I felt complete bliss for her. Her face was still beautiful despite her tears and puffy eyes.

"After years of trying... I'm finally pregnant... Heather and I are going to be parents... My dream came true... And I know, that your dream will also come true." I hugged her without even thinking. It was the only thing I knew to relieve her. I didn't want to tell her that I'm not the Sylvia she's talking about. Not in her emotional state.

"I'm really happy for you... You should tell Heather about it..." she nodded and looked at the direction of her husband. I heard her call him with their endearment. Heather looked our way. His eyes landed on Daisy. He gave her a smile so full of love. He walked to our direction and reached her hand. Daisy took it, she wraooed her arms around his neck, while Heather wrapped his on her waist.

Daisy started murmuring something to his ear. Heather's face was priceless. He looked shocked and happy at the same time. I saw tears streaming down his face. He cupped Daisy's face and kissed her senseless. Sandro cleared his throat. I saw how Daisy blushed. Heather looked so happy.

"What's the big news?" Sandro pulled me closer to him. His hand all over my waist.

"I'm going to be a father!" Sandro's eyes widened and he smiled.

"Congrats! Another member of the family!" Sandro's deep voice was giving me goosebumps. I can see how happy he was for his friend. I tried pulling away from him but he kept pulling me to his side.

"This calls for a celebration!" Heather looked so happy. He must've waited so long to have children. I told my congrats to them, he smiled and said,

"Thank you, Sylvia... Thank you for coming back..." I was confuse as fvk. What the hell are they saying? I didn't know what to respond so I gave him a small smile.

After having lunch, they decided to drink wine. We're still at the balcony. The servants gave me the same wine I always drink during meals. This wine wasn't really high in alcohol. Since Daisy was pregnant, she drank fresh milk from Sandro's farm. I can see how genuinely happy she is.

--

The sun was about to set, Heather and Sandro got drunk. I was wondering why I didn't get drunk. I usually get drunk after five glasses, depends on the alcohol percentage. Rigor, Sandro's butler, helped him up his room. While another servant helped Heather and Daisy to theirs.

Rigor helped changed Sandro's clothes. If he changed any. He only removed his shirt and slocks, Sandro's left with his boxers. He left after helping Sandro with his clothes. There is no way I am sleeping with a man that's almost naked. Maybe I will...

Then an idea ran through my mind. I should use this opportunity to escape! He's drunk as hell and he won't be waking anytime soon.

I quickly changed my clothes. I wore some skinny jeans that hugged my thighs, a gray loose sweater, inside I wore a black fitted cropped top, some socks to keep my feet warm and my timberland boots. I took a long black coat, a bonnet and some mittens to keep my head and body warm. It was freezing outside even without snow. The autumn breeze was getting colder and colder.

I heard him murmuring something. His hand moved to thw other side of the bed. He was looking for something. When his brows furrowed, he tried searching again. I placed a pillow to his side to stop his doubt. He finally calmed down and pulled the pillow to his body. His kissed the top of the pillow and nuzzled it.

I started walking to the door. At that moment, I decided that it was now or never.
