As the last notes of the piano faded, she was stunned. Catharsis. That was exactly what she felt, all her emotion summed up in a word. But it was much more than that. The adrenaline, the excitement, the startling clarity. For a moment the outside world faded away. It was just her in a fog of brilliance floating in seventh heaven. This was her high, her drug. She tried to cling to that euphoria but was harshly ripped out by the thundering applause. Calmly she stood up with a guileful smile on her face as she left the audience behind all the while planning her second murder.
