Don’t Turn on the Tv

Boring Day

Emily drives Charle and I to school and waves us goodbye as she drives to work. It was still early so not many teachers were around. Many kids my age would be messing around but I go meet Shota, my best friend in the small but cute garden just outside the school every morning .

"So, you had that nightmare again? You were three minutes late." He greets. He hands me some pebbles to skid on the lake in front of us.

Besides my family, he's the only one who I told about my nightmares. I've only known him for about a year but it feels like I've known him forever.

"Have you heard about the auditions for the tv show 'take it slow' going on this afternoon ?!? Your still coming right? Please say you are!?"

He's always been into this kind of thing. However I can't seem to get into the spirit. I don't see the point of even wanting to be on tv. However, last week when he brought these auditions up I promised I'd do it with him.

"Ugh!!! Fine!!!!"

I give in and agree to the auditions. But I'm not happy about it.

We walk over to the school and go inside. Walking and talking till we got to our class.

Everything proceeded as normal. Class to class to class till the day is over and have Emily pick up Charle, Shota and I from school. I was having a normal day till we got to the auditions. There was a group of 20 people around our age there and we had no idea what we were supposed to do.

We waited and waited till the lights shut off. Shota and I held tight to each other waiting for the shifting to stop. We waited till a huge flat screen turned on, sucking up Shota and everyone else. I sit completely alone and confused in the center of the room, to scared to even move my finger. Silence engulfed the area before a voice spoke out,

"ya'll spend too ooo much time watching tv. If you can survive a night in a tv, then we will let you go. But if not, then let's just say you won't be returning to reality, or the virtual world."

My blood went cold as I realized the true circumstances of the new situationand that there was nothing I could do to help Shota or anyone else. All i could do was sit and pray that they can survive. The screen glitches and went into perspective of all the contestants. Shota walking in circles. Before tripping on his shoelace. I can't help but laugh.

"*snort* ahh that hurt like spices in your nose!!"

I laugh so hard that I catch the announcers attention. "What the... why are you not in the screen?" I turned out to be this little girl, or at least looked like one, and was wearing... pjs. I look at her and she stares at me, like she already knows why but I'm expecting an answer.

"I don't know to be honest."

She looks at me with a glow in her eyes.

"Perfect! I have someone to help me! Call anyone you want then meet me in the recording studio to your left k!"

I pretend to understand and immediately call Emily.

"Hello what's up Kate, are the auditions over already?"

I explain the situation and tell her to come to the set now!

"Ok I'm on my way, stay there and don't move."

I hang up and start to head for the recording studio wondering what she wants. This is going to be interesting.
