Mixed Feelings

Mia’s POV,

“The time is now Mia, my father has agreed to allow you to go to town with me in the morning. I need you to pack up what you need and give the bag to me tonight. Can you do that?”

It has only been four days since I agreed to leave with Steven. There has still been no word from Logan. I feel as though he has given up on me. Steven really doesn’t say too much about it. Now that the time has come to run. I can feel my fear rising. I’m scared of what could happen. Here Steven was risking his life to save me. I know he wants out, but I still can’t shake the feeling of this being about me. Steven has been doing his best to hide his true feelings towards me, but I can see how much he is struggling with it.

“Yes.” I simply said. He nodded at me with a smile and left my room. I knew there was a black bag in the back of my closet. I started to walk around and grab things I thought would be the most important things to take with me. I guess his father thought enough about me and Steven to allow me to go out of the house. We haven’t really been doing too much. Then again, I had no idea what Steven has been telling McGreggor.

Steven has also been sleeping in my room every night for the last four nights. We both agreed on that. That could be helping our situation out as well. Steven came back to my room around nine that night. I gave him the bag and he disappeared for about an hour. I was almost asleep when I heard him come back into my room. I watched him lock the door behind himself. Ever since I thought someone was in the room with us I have been on him to keep my door locked. Steven slipped out of pants and shirt. He was in nothing more than a pair of basketball shorts and I couldn't help but notice that he looked good.

Steven is much larger than Logan. Both had about the same amount of tattoos and both had dark features. I guess I had a thing for the bad boys. I never knew I had it in me. Granted I still felt Logan was hotter and my heart still belonged to him, but it was becoming harder to hold on to Logan. I sighed as Steven slipped in the bed next to me.

“What’s the plan?” I asked him. He rolled over and moved closer to me. We had to talk quietly about this.

“My father thinks I’m taking you shopping. It will give us time to get the fuck out of here. I have people on the outside that are willing to help us. People I trust. We will head to Colorado and lay low for at least a month if not longer. Just to make sure we haven’t been found. Once I know we’re safe, we will start to try and find your father.” I took a deep breath and nodded at him. “Are you good with that?” He asked me. His lips were only inches away from mine. I could feel his hot minty breath. If I didn’t already feel guilty I would kiss him, but I just can’t do it.

“Yes, I’m good.” He smiled at me and moved away. I watched as he closed his eyes and then I felt the mini panic attack come on. I was scared and fearful of what could happen if this didn’t go well. I tossed and turned most of the night and when Steven woke me the next morning I had maybe three hours of sleep. I scolded myself for not being better prepared for this. I got up and jumped into the shower and got ready before I met Steven downstairs in the living room. I walked in on him and his father having a talk and I felt myself start to shake but did my best to keep it together.

“You look, nice sweetheart.” Mr. McGerggor said with a smile.

“Thank you, sir.”

“Are you excited about getting out of the house today?”

“Yes, thank you so much for allowing me to go out.” He nodded at me and looked back towards Steven.

“We should only be a couple of hours. You know how long women can take to shop.” Steven said.

“Take your time, no need to rush, and if you need me just give me a call.” McGreggor patted Steven on the back and walked out of the room. Steven turned and looked at me.

“All ready to go?” He asked and all I did was nod at him. He placed his hand on the small of my back and guided me outside to his car. He let me in and closed my door and the next thing I knew we were outside of the gates and headed down the road.

Logan’s POV,

“I can’t help you Logan if you don’t tell me what the fuck is going on,” Collin said as I was back at the cabin packing my things up.

“It’s over man, She is with him now.”

“What the fuck does that mean?” He yelled out at me. I picked up something from the table and threw it at the wall. It broke into a million pieces and fell to the ground. I grabbed my phone and tossed it at Collin. I watched him open the phone and look at it for a minute. Then he turned and looked back at me. “Really Logan, you’re going to believe this crap? Who even sent this to you?”

“It had to be Steven,” I said.

“Are you sure, because this could have come from anyone. All you see is her head in his lap and she and he are both asleep. This could be anything man. Don’t forget where she is. I can’t believe it’s so easy for you to believe the worse. You’re in love with the girl and it’s making you blind, hell it making you nuts.” I took a deep breath and leaned against the wall. “Don’t you think you deserve her heart? I had to laugh at that one.

“No, I don’t,” I said closing my eyes.

“Well you do and she loves you. So stop being such a bitch and let’s go get your girl.”

“But?”

“No buts dude, I swear Logan. I’m about to beat your ass myself. Until you have heard it from her lips. Leave it alone. Show her you love her and get her the hell out of there. You know Steven has been looking for a way out from under his father. Maybe they are doing this to fool him. You have no idea what’s happening. Pull your head out of your ass.”

“I swear Collin if you and I were not friends. I might have killed you already.”

“Yeah but you haven’t so let get a move on.” I sighed and felt tired.

“Let’s do this first sight of the moon tonight.” I crawled into bed and laid there watching the sun start to rise. My head was pulling me into all different directions. One second I was thinking of my girl in Steven’s arms and the next I was planning on having her in my arms. I was going back and forth and it was causing me to have no sleep. No matter what Collin had one thing right until I heard it from her lips I was going to get my girl back tonight. I rolled over and looked at the clock and it was past noon. I closed my eyes and waited for the moon to return.

I was woken up by voices I didn’t recognize. Automatically I grabbed my gun and placed it in the back of my jeans. I grab my shirt and put it on as I made my way out of the room. Collin stood in the living room with five other guys. All of them were dressed in black. When Collin saw me. He nodded at the other guys. “Logan, I’d like for you to meet some friends of mine. This is Jacob, Mark, Joe, Bean, and Lucas.” I shook all of their hands.

“Bean?” The guy laughed.

“It’s a nickname.” He said and we all smiled.

“They are going to help us tonight. I trust these men and we need their help.” Collin said and all I did was nod my head. The sun was started to set and I needed some food. I walked into the kitchen and watched the guys setting up guns. They looked like some sort of squad that worked for the police. They seemed like, this was just some normal job for them. I had to ask more about them, but now just wasn’t the time. I was grateful for the manpower. Collin and I really did need them.

We loaded the truck and the five men loaded into a small SUV. I took a deep breath as I pulled away and headed towards McGerggors place. “What’s the plan?” I asked Collin.

“They are in charge, the mission for them is to get the girl out by any means necessary. They also know that Steven is not a target. They are going to take him out with Mia.”

“And what the fuck are we going to do?”

“We wait for their instructions.” I would argue with Collin as soon as we stopped driving. There was no way I was not going to be apart of this.

“I know you’re having a hard time with this Logan, but these men are professionals. They are very good at what they do. Let them do their jobs. Okay?” I stayed quiet, still fully prepared for an argument. I didn’t give a fuck who these men were. Mia was mine and I would be the one to pull her out of that house.
