Feeling Lost

I sat there trying not to cry. I was doing my best to be strong, but I had no idea what these men wanted or what they would do to me? All I knew was they were nothing but thugs. All of them looked like men from those gang movies. Covered in tattoos, slicked-back hair. Rugged and dangerous looking. I just knew I was going to die. Were the things they said about my father true? Did my mother know he was having an affair? Was that what they had been fighting about?

“Are you going to start behaving yourself? Or do I have to keep holding onto your hair and making you behave?” I looked into the eyes of the man holding onto me. He was definitely the one in charge here. He was also the only one who looked as though he had a level head out of the bunch. One of them was driving and paying us no attention, but the other two looked at me like I was dinner.

“I will behave,” I said softly as the tears ran down my face.

“That’s a good girl.” One of the other men hissed out.

“Why don’t you worry about yourself, and I’ll worry about the girl.” Both the men watching me started to laugh.

“Hey man, if you think you’re getting her all to yourself. You’re out of your fucking mind.” I glanced up at the man next to me. He just smiled at them.

“Try me.” He said. The other guys looked at each other.

“Whatever Heart.” One of them said. I took a deep breath.

“What’s your name?” I asked the man sitting next to me. He looked over at me and then he looked away. “What’s it going to hurt if I know your name?” He didn’t look back at me.

“I’m Nate.” The one in front of me said. “This ass next to me is James and driving is Steven. That asshole next to you is Logan.” Logan turned and gave Nate a dirty look.

“Where are you taking me?” Not thinking I would get an answer, but I still had to ask.

“Just be quiet,” Logan said. I crossed my arms and moved away from him. He just looked at me and then went back to looking out the window. I felt the tears start to run down my face again. I don’t know how long we had been on the road, but I could see the sun start to rise and still we were driving.

“How much longer Steven, my legs are killing me, man?” Nate hollered out.

“Seriously, my bitch keeps texting me,” James said. Really? I said to myself. Yep, nothing but a bunch of thugs. I just shook my head and stayed quiet.

“We still have about an hour,” Steven said.

“Are you thirsty?” Logan asked me as he handed me a water bottle. I took it and drank the whole thing. I just laid my head against the van and closed my eyes. For some dumb reason. I felt like Logan wasn’t going to let these guys touch me.

The next thing I knew I was being woken up by Logan grabbing my arm. We were parked in front of this huge house and that’s when my anxiety kicked in. As soon as we were outside of the van. I pulled my arm out of Logan’s grip and took off running at full speed.

“Son of a bitch.” I heard one of them say. I turned to look back just for a moment and that’s when I felt someone knock me to the ground. I grabbed my knee as I came crashing down on it. I looked up to see a gun pointed at my head. I didn’t know who this man was. That’s when Logan came running up to me.

“Do you fucking want to die?” He hollered out as he snatched me up and I let out a yell. My knee was killing me and now I was limping next to Logan as he pulled me along with him towards the house.

“Let me go!” I cried out. He just tightened his grip on me. “Logan, I can’t move this fast,” I said.

“I guess you should have thought about that before you took off.” He snapped at me.

“Well if you didn’t kidnap me. I wouldn’t have run off!” He just shook his head and drug me inside the house. We walked inside and entered what looked like an office. Logan had me sit down on a large couch. I grabbed my knee again. A large heavyset man sat behind a desk, just watching me.

“What do we have here boys?” The man spoke. Steven started to talk and the man told him to shut his mouth. Steven listened and took a seat. The man looked over at Logan.

“Richard is not cooperating. We took her as leverage. He said he would get your list together.” The man behind the desk set back and crossed his arms. He looked over at me.

“Did you hurt her?” The man asked as I was still holding my knee. Logan looked over at me and then back to the man.

“No, she decided to run once we got out of the van.” The man smiled at me.

“So she has some spirit to her?” He said and I watched as Logan rolled his eyes.

“No, she is just a pain in the ass.”

“Screw you, Logan.” I spit out. The man behind the desk started to laugh.

“Well, Logan she is your pain in the ass for now.” Logan looked at the man like he was nuts.

“That wasn’t part of the deal,” Logan said.

“Taking a hostage wasn’t part of the plan either Logan. So she is now your problem until you get me what the fuck I wanted.” Logan just sighed to himself. He turned and looked at me. The other guys stood up.

“Well if you don’t need us any longer,” Steven said and the three of them walked out of the office.

“Idiots.” The man behind the desk said. Then he looked over at me. “You behave yourself for Logan.” He said to me. I just looked away.

“What the hell am I suppose to do with her?” Logan said.

“You could let me go,” I said not thinking again. The man behind the desk laughed again.

“She has heart, Logan I’ll give her that.” He said. “If your father wasn’t fucking my wife and stealing from me. You would be home warm in your own bed. So until your father gives me what I want. I own you. So shut your pretty little mouth and do as you’re told or I’ll send your ass back to him in a box.” Logan turned and grabbed me by my arm again.

“I can walk,” I said in his ear. He just looked over at me.

“Watch your mouth.” He whispered back to me. He let go of my arm and I stayed next to him as I followed him outside of the house. I thought we would be headed back to the van, but the van was gone. Instead, I follow Logan to a large black truck. “Get in he said.” I knew causing him any problems right now would be the wrong move. I just climb into the truck and put my seat belt on. I was too tired to fight. Logan climbed into the truck and pulled out.

“Where are we going?” I asked quietly.

“My place.” He said. My knee was killing me, I had scraped it up pretty good. Touching it lightly I found that I was still bleeding and it had already swelled up. “I’ll take care of that when we get there.” He said. I just sighed and tried to ignore the pain.

“Are you going to kill me?” I asked him. He looked over at me and rolled his eyes again.

“I don’t want to, but if you don’t behave, I will.” I looked back out the window. We pulled up to a small home that set away from everything. Once Logan stop the truck and got out. A chocolate lab came running off the porch to him. I stayed in the truck and just watched this man act like a normal human. “Get out of the truck Mia.” He said and I did as I was told. I followed him into the house. His place looked normal like he was living just a normal life. I don’t really know what I expected to see. I stood by the door not knowing what to do next. I could have made a run for it, but I had no idea where I was and his dog would probably turn me into kibbles and bits. I took a seat on his couch and he disappeared out of the room. His dog came over to my side. His tail was wagging and he had a goofy grin on his face. I slowly reached out and ran my hand down his body. He rewarded me with a sloppy kiss on the hand.

Logan came walking back into the room with a first aid kit in his hands. He walked over to me and kneeled in front of me. He then took my leg straightening it as he seemed to study my wound. “I don’t have any woman clothes here, but I have this tank top and basketball shorts you can use for now. I’ll get you somethings when I go to town.” How fucking long was I going to be here? I said to myself. I watched Logan while he was gentle cleaning up my knee. If I wasn’t ripped from my family and held against my will. I would actually think Logan was very attractive with his dark hair and you could see his muscles popping out from his shirt. His eyes seemed kind to me, but they also seemed a little lost. I wanted to ask him questions, but I also felt like maybe this just wasn’t the time. “Now,” he said as he stood up. “Do I need to tie you up or will you behave yourself?”

“I won’t give you any problems,” I said feeling tired and a little defeated.
