Trouble

Mia’s POV,

I opened my eyes seeing the sun was already up. My wrist ached in pain, and I had to pee. “Logan!” I hollered out. “Logan! I will pee on myself!” The door opened and he stood there.

“I swear to god woman.” He said as he walked over and unlocked my cuffs. I rubbed my wrist and walked off towards the bathroom. “I’m going to make some pancakes. I’m sure your hungry. Be a good girl and make your way to the kitchen.” I heard him say from the bathroom door. Sitting on the toilet I looked at the small window above the shower. I knew I could fit through it, but could I get it open? If I did get it open would I get away? I don’t even know where the hell I am. I just sighed and brushed out my hair and washed my face. I found Logan with his back to me making pancakes. Good lord, he stood there in nothing but a pair of basketball shorts. His back was covered in muscles and tattoos. His ink was all over his back. I had to admit it to myself that Logan was a hottie. “Are you just going to stand there gawking, or are you going to sit down and eat?” I just took a deep breath and took a seat on one of the stools at the bar.

“When do I get to go home?” I asked him.

“As soon as your father gives us what we want.” Logan sat a plate full of food down and took a seat next to me.

“What if he doesn’t?” I asked and Logan just sighed.

“I don’t know Mia.” He started to eat his food. His dog came over and stood next to me. I set my plate on the ground and walked over to the couch and sat down. “What did you go and do that for?” Logan asked me. I didn’t answer him I just sat there looking out the window. All I wanted to do was go home. I had no idea who this man was. I had no idea what was going to happen to me, and to top it all off. It looks as though my father was nothing but a lier. How could none of us have known what my father was doing? Although it looked as though maybe my mother did. How could he do this to his family? I felt my tears fall down my face. Logan was cleaning up the kitchen and I was still sitting on the couch. He had tried to ask me a few questions, but after I didn’t answer him. He just let me be.

It was around two in the afternoon when Logan sat a sandwich down in front of me. I looked at it and then at him and went back to looking out the window. Logan sat on the table in front of me. “Starving yourself is not going to make this any easier.” I looked back at him as we both heard a car pull up. Logan stood up and pulled a gun out. He came close to me. “Stay here and don’t move, do you understand?” I nodded my head at him and watched him walk outside. I recognized the two men that got out of the car. It was Steve and James. Two of the guys that were with Logan when they took me. All three of them came walking back inside. I kept myself sat down on the couch.

“There she is, how are you, sweetheart?” Steven asked me. I said nothing as I looked over at Logan.

“What are you guys doing here?” Logan asked.

“McGreggor hasn’t heard a word from Kincaid, he wants us to make him talk,” James said. I wondered what the hell that meant. James pulled a knife out of his back pocket and started to walk towards me. I jumped up and moved back as fast as I could as Logan jumped on James back. “What the hell man?“James yelled out.

“What are you doing?” Logan said.

“Calm down man, I’m not going to kill her I just need to hurt her and take a few pictures. Then we will be on our way.” James said.

“What? No.” I yelled out. “You stay the fuck away from me.” Steven just laughed and James smiled at me. Logan looked pissed off. James started to make his way closer to me when Logan moved to stop him. Steven stood up and hit Logan hard in the gut. Logan went down and grabbed his stomach. James kept coming closer to me. I reached out and slapped him across the face. That was my first mistake. James grabbed me by my hair and slammed his fist into my face. I let out a scream and fell back on the couch. I heard Logan yell out and wondered why he even cared. James turned and looked at Steven and Logan and that’s when I took my chance and took off out the open front door. I could hear them yelling behind me as I made my way into the woods. I had on no shoes and could feel the earth digging into my feet as I ran. The pain was bad but my will to run was stronger. Their voices got quieter and quieter. I hid behind a tree and looked down at my bloody feet.

I could feel the sting on my face from where James hit me. My tears were coming down my face, and I was doing everything I could to keep quiet. That’s when Logan ran past me and then he stopped and turned to see me laying against the tree. He looked at me and then his face fell. He actually looked almost remorseful. Our eyes locked as he brought the fingers to his lips to tell me to be quiet. He ran past me and I could hear him telling Steven and James that there was nothing out here. “What the fuck are we going to tell McGreggor?” James hollered out. “This is your fault, Logan. If you would of just let us do our jobs.”

“Fuck you, James, there was never a plan on hurting the girl,” Logan yelled out.

“Are you fucking her Heart?” I heard Steven ask.

“What? No, but McGreggor never said anything to me about harming her. Until I hear him tell me that, no one touches her.”

“It doesn’t matter now, she is fucking gone,” James said.

“I know these woods like the back of my hand. She won’t get far. Go, tell McGreggor if he wants something done with the girl. He can call me to take care of it. After all, she is in my care at my home. I don’t want you two showing up out here unannounced again. Or I’ll shot to kill, do you understand me?”

“You should watch who you’re talking to Heart.” I heard Steven say. Then I heard footsteps walking away from me. It only took a few minutes and Logan was at my side. He looked at me and then he moved a piece of my hair away from my face. He sighed and ended up picking me up off the ground. I moaned out in pain and he held me closer to him. Once we were back at the house I twisted looking out for James and Steven.

“Don’t worry they are gone. They won’t be coming back" Logan said as he sat me down on the kitchen counter. “Don’t move I’ll be right back. I could see the bruise under my left eye in the glare of the microwave. That’s when I felt more tears fall down my face. This was all real and up until this point I didn’t treat it as such, but now it all felt way too real. I felt like I was going to die. Then Logan came back around to me. “What is it? What’s wrong?” He asked as he placed his hands on my face.

“I’m going to die aren’t I Logan?” I said though the tears.

“Hey, look at me.” I looked him right in the eyes. “Not as long as you're with me.” He said and I just sighed. He placed an ice pack over my eye and then he went to cleaning up my feet. I don’t know why at that moment I felt like I could trust him, but I did. At that moment I closed my eyes and placed my hand on his shoulder.

“Thank you,” I said to him, but he didn’t look up at me.

“Don’t thank me, Mia, I’m the one that got you here. I’m no better than any of them.” I don’t know why but I just didn’t believe that. Logan seemed different, different in a way I couldn’t explain. Logan stood back up and picked me up and took me to the bathroom. There was a package sitting on the toilet. “Everything you need is in that package.” He said and left me in the bathroom. I opened the package and found clothes and everything I needed to keep myself clean. There was even a little makeup. I sighed and stood up and limped into my bedroom. I didn’t see Logan anywhere. The sun was starting to set and I took a seat on the bed. I heard Logan knock on the door and then stick his head inside. I pushed my wrist out to him thinking he was coming in here to lock me up. “I’m not here for that, are you hungry? I made some dinner.” I knew I was hungry so I stood up and limped over to him. He went to reach down and pick me up but I stopped him.

“It’s okay I can walk,” I said and he turned and I just followed him. Once I took a seat, Logan sat a bowl in front of me full of stew. “Do you like to cook?” I asked him as he took a seat.

“You can say that.” He said.

“Thank you for the things,” I said to him and he nodded his head to me. “Logan, why did you stop them from hurting me?” He sighed.

“I don’t want you touched.”

“But why?”
