Blurb

Dieter Jupiter Ring, war-scarred and cauterized of normal human feelings, has been camping on a small coastal island in Maine each summer to escape from the world. He is haunted by the feral wraiths of war and guilt. He stops briefly in Greenwich Village and meets Lilith Lennon. Days later, he drives to Mystic to meet her, only to discover that no one knows Lilith Lennon. His longing for her has become a narcotic that is keeping him alive. Jupiter goes to his island hide-away. Plagued by horrid memories of Vietnam, he has vivid flashbacks of his involvement in a massacre of Vietnamese civilians. Lilith knew of the island Jupiter was camping on and visits him. On a boat trip with drunken friends who harass her, she jumps into the frigid water to escape them. She almost drowns but is rescued by Jupiter. She spends the night on the island with Jupiter, but then abruptly disappears. When he returns to his island, he discovers that his handgun, a gun he named “Misty,” has been stolen. He later learns that she may be Donna Palmer, one of only two survivors of a horrifying hotel fire caused by Hurricane Donna in 1960.

Katy Rayne: i really enjoyed this book. i have to say i didn't know what to expect, but with every chapter that came something crucial to keep you reading happened. I was disappointed with the ending if this is for another book i will defiantly carry on reading the next book.

SandraHan1: This story is very descriptive, with vivid scenes from the very beginning, which made for a good scene setting. I love the symbolism in names, such as “Naysayers”, “Hadd”, etc . The story itself is revolutionary, intriguing, emotional and exciting. I was very pleased to see that there is a happy ...

smile4me: Exciting page turner. I was barely able to put it down to go to bed. I can usually figure out the twists before they are revealed but not this time! Such a thrill to be surprised. I can hardly wait for the follow up!!

spec4huff: Thank you for creating this world. I am a 6'3" veteran that thinks himself tough. But the piece of literature you have created made me misty eyed on a number of occasions. I want a love like this. Thank you again, I would totally buy this book and hopefully the sequels to this ever enchanting lov...

Grapes Are Juicy yes!!!: I give this novel FIVE STARS ! This novel is worth reading from the beginning to the end! The plot and conflicts in this story are very smartly integrated. The language facility is a little odd , but i guess this was done on purpose, given the novel's set era. Other than that, this should definit...

Andria M. Redlin-Author: POSSIBLE SPOILERS AHEAD-READ WITH CAUTION: The book was an enjoyable read overall, with many surprises I wasn't expecting. There were only a few things that bothered me: 1. There were times when the characters (mainly Opal and Lee) were talking too much, which got in the way of the action.. ...

Ruby0h: Overall I thought your story was really good! It drew me in right away and kept me interested as the story progressed. I loved the character of Kayla being inserted into this story, and the way she affected and shaped the life of the original story into something totally new and interesting. I lo...

OpheliaJones: This story took a different kind of spin on the "normal girl lives with definitely not normal guy" plot. The plot points of Frey's father, Liam's family, and Frey's view of Liam's world were good to read. She did not fall in love with him in the first couple weeks. Their lives were not smooth in ...

Stephen Warner: To start off, I am thoroughly impressed. The writing style is somewhat unique, and the plot seemed to move at a nice and steady pace. However, I was not expecting this to be a vampire book! I am usually not one for novels about vampires, but I was pleasantly surprised! You wrote with such grace a...

mullikin902: Do not start reading this book unless you have enough time to finish it in one sitting, because you will not be able to put it down! Superlative! Addictive! Deliciously wicked characters you can't get enough of. Impatiently waiting for the sequel!

taosgw74: If this is the authors first attempt at writing, I'm floored. I was engrossed in the plot from the get go.

Jennifer Sibley Jannise: So, I originally read the book because my daughter asked me to. However, I read it in 2 days and thoroughly enjoyed it. It is well written and thought out. If the author writes and publishes any more books, I would definitely read them.

Flik: Hi! ^.^ huge fan of yours on ff.net! When I saw the note about this contest on The Way We Smile, I couldn't help but rush over here, create an account, and vote! XD Seriously love this story and would recommend it to anyone! :D best FT fanfiction out there. Amazing story, amazing concept that wa...

Althea Kerr: This is a tale that is all too familiar to South African readers having lived through a war era on our borders and beyond. It is obviously autobiographical as the mind under duress is so detailed and real. It has fantastic suspense if a bit disjointed - perhaps that is the fear and loneliness com...

Sandra Estrada: I loved every minute of it and I thank my lucky stars that brought me to the story, it's been a whirlwind of emotions, plot twist after plot twist but I never got tired of them. Abby and Kade's story is a hard one to understand but once you're submerged in their story and love, you can't help but...
