Passing Doves - Part 2 - Chapter 8 - Comments
“Three months,” Captain Edmons nods his head, “guess that counts for something seeing that the leads ran cold on all three murders.”
Detectives, Cruz, Moore, Audy, and Kahn-Lee sit in silence as Captain Edmons paces back and forth in his office,
“No more threats about demotions, no more talk about the Chief this and that, no more of that bullshit. From here on out, your sole goal in life is to catch this bastard. I will tell you all this from experience and from obvious case study and criminal pattern recognition…”
Det. Audy interrupts, “The Dove Killer is not done.”
“Just like that prick in Idaho. Moscow has a damn hard job to do and so do we.” Says Edmons as he takes a sip of coffee.

Simon shakes his head in disappointment as he looks at the AirTag location again.
Same bar.
Every fucking night for the last three months.
Simon hadn’t been doing anything except waiting patiently, surprisingly. In fact, he had even started to feel bad for the drunk.
“We are waiting.” Simon says aloud as he reads the comment for the 50th time.“
“I’ll never give another moment of grace again.”
Simon taps the reply button and slowly begins typing, “The wait is over.”
15 minutes later Simon’s black Honda Civic pulls into the bar parking lot.
