Have you always wanted to try your hand at writing a horror novel, or a suspenseful thriller, or a murder mystery? Now is your chance! It’s the perfect season to conjure up a spooky ghost story, or spin a tale of witches and wizards, or craft a pulse pounding who-done-it.

Once you’ve written your frightening fable, enter it into Inkitt’s Halloween Writing Contest. All scary, spooky, thrilling, and suspenseful genres will be accepted, and you can submit multiple entries!
How do I enter?
It’s easy! Follow these steps:
- Upload your book to your Inkitt profile.
- Visit the contest page Inkitt Halloween Writing Contest.
- Click Submit Your Novel.
Winners will be chosen based on reader engagement, which includes a combination of reads on your book, likes, and reviews. We’ll begin collecting data on your submission from the day you enter the contest.

Inkitt will announce the winners within 3 months of the end of the contest.
Terms and Conditions:
- Submissions must be original and written in English to be considered for winning prizes.
- Submissions must be a minimum of 10,000 words.
- Both ongoing and completed works will be accepted.
- Authors cannot enter the contest more than once with the same story.
- Poetry and fan fiction will not be considered for the winning places.
- Previously or currently self-published books are accepted.
- You must own the rights to the novel.
- You retain all rights to your stories while posted on Inkitt.
