The theme of our New Year Writing Contest is to challenge yourself to write a genre you’ve never tried before. Authors who can submit a book of 20,000 words or more by January 31st, 2021 will be eligible to win.
So if you’re a romantic fanatic, a diehard drama writer or familiar with writing a different genre, we want to see what you can do with a brand new genre! 🚀

Authors have the chance to win great prizes every month and get promoted by Inkitt’s team. Our monthly contest is open to authors of all genres, ongoing and completed books of 10,000 words or more.
The rules for all of our contests are simple, as long as your book meets the required word count, is written in English and meets the stated rules, you are eligible to win. Winners are selected based on reader engagement, that means likes, shares, comments, and reader behaviour on your book. Winners are announced on the closed contest pages and later on our very own @inkittbooks Instagram account.
