The Gruesome Details
Our horror writing contest is open to everyone, and 100% free to enter. Your submission must be a minimum of 20,000 words and written in English. We are accepting both ongoing and completed books – so yes, if you have a frighteningly addictive WIP, it might just be the perfect fit for this contest.
All ‘scary’ or frightening genres will be considered for the winning prizes in this contest. That includes horror, thriller, paranormal, dystopian, mystery, crime, ghost stories, dark fantasy, etc. Poetry and fanfiction will not be accepted in this contest.
1st place
A $1,000 cash prize, one-on-one writing coaching class worth $500, a feature on Inkitt’s social media platforms and an exclusive writer’s badge for your book.
2nd place
A $250 cash prize and a feature on Inkitt’s social media platforms.
