Inkitt: What inspired you to become an author?

Kara: I got into reading and read a bunch of stories on Inkitt. After reading a lot, I found things I would have preferred happen in stories and decided to write my own.

Inkitt: How did you first discover Inkitt?

Kara: I first found a different app to read on, but it was a pay per chapter. Wanting to save money, I started looking for other options and stumbled across Inkitt. I found that I really enjoyed many of the stories on there and got hooked on the platform.

Inkitt: When did you find out you were going to be a Galatea author?

Kara: I received an email about a different story of mine moving to Galatea and was thrilled with the opportunity to further spread my stories.

Inkitt: What are you most excited about readers seeing in your book on Galatea?

Kara: I love the edits that have been made in the story and are excited for readers to experience this new version of the story. It really addressed issues I had with the original plotline.

Inkitt: What are the biggest challenges you’ve faced in your writing journey?

Kara: The biggest challenges in my writing journey are the other authors. I’m torn between reading their new stories and writing my own. Sometimes I go on long windows where I’m just reading, then I have to reread mine to remember where I was and what comes next.

Inkitt: What advice would you give to other Inkitt authors hoping to sign a Galatea contract?

Kara: Keep writing and sharing your story. I found that new stories can garner attention, which leads to older stories gaining that same attention.

Inkitt: Are you a plotter or a pantser?

Kara: A little of both. I generally have a basic idea planned out, but let it grow and develop as I write.

Inkitt: What part of the writing process do you enjoy the most?

Kara: Planning and thinking of the overall plot in my head is my favorite part.

Inkitt: Where do you find inspiration for your stories?

Kara: I find inspiration everywhere. Sometimes one story I read will make me think of something I want to write. Sometimes I just think of things when my mind wanders at night.

Inkitt: Are there any recurring themes or messages you hope readers take away from your stories?

Kara: My stories often form around strong female leads or overcoming issues.

Inkitt: Which authors have influenced your writing style the most?

Kara: Probably Kesley Tate. I love her stories on Inkitt and Galatea.
