Story 1

You were outside your backyard, sitting on the front porch when your sister came in, "What are you doing just sitting there?" your sister asked you. "Nothing" you replied. "Don't tell me that you're still waiting for that man from the stars, the one that you told me about" your sister said to you. "He does exist! why don't you believe me?!" you said loudly to your sister. "Dude, chill out I was just joking. You don't need to be angry with me" your sister said. "I'm sorry, it's just that he promised that he would return for me," you said. "I know, y/n but don't you think it's about time that you give up on waiting? He could be dead by now" your sister said to you.

"No, the Doctor is not dead, he promised that he'll come back for me. I know he's somewhere out there still traveling in his old blue box" you said as you looked up to the sky and thought of the Doctor. "Alright, I'll leave you to it," your sister said to you. "Wait where are you going?" you asked your sister. "Oh, Stacy asked me to babysit her younger brother, since she's going out with her boyfriend tonight," your sister said to you. "I see" you replied. "You can come with me if you like." your sister said to you. "No, I'll stay here" you replied. "Are you sure? You haven't been out of the house for weeks, come with me please" your sister begged.

"No, I'm alright," you said. "Oh, well suit yourself, would you like me to bring you something?" your sister asked. "Just some chips please," you said. "Alright see you later," your sister said as she left. "Y/n mind helping me here in the kitchen?" your mother called out to you. "Coming mom," you said as you went to the kitchen to help your mother. "Hey, mom I'm here," you said. "Oh, there you are, do you mind buying some eggs and milk for me in the convenience store?" your mom asked you. "Sure, I'll do it" you replied. "Thanks, sweetie," your mom said. You grabbed some money from the desk and headed on to the convenience store.

Once there, you purchased what you needed and headed home. While on your way home, you stumble upon a police box parked on the other side of the street. "Isn't that what I think it is?" you said as you rushed to the other side of the street. "Doctor, doctor I know your in there," you said as you knocked on the door. "Oi, what are you doing down there?" you heard a voice say. You turned around and saw an officer. "Sorry" you apologized and then left. "I got what you wanted mom," you said as you handed her the items that you bought from the convenience store. "Are you ok sweetie?" she asked you. "Yes, I'm fine, I'll be in my room if you need me," you said as you went to your room.

You shut your door and threw yourself on the bed, "Argh! Why am I like this?! Do I miss him that much?" you said. While you were sulking, you heard that old familiar sound. You jolted up and went outside. The Tardis landed in your backyard, "Doctor!" you say as you rushed towards the Tardis. After it landed, a blond man in a beige coat came out of the Tardis. "Doctor?" you said. "Y/n?" he said to you. "Who are you and how did you know my name?" you asked him. "Y/n it's the Doctor, don't you remember me?" the stranger said as he got closer to you.

"Keep away from me," you said as you moved away from the stranger. "Y/n wait," he said as he went after you. "No, leave me alone," you said. "Y/n, please, I'll show you, something," he said as he offered his hand to you. You were hesitant at first but there's just something about this stranger that's oddly familiar to you. You took his hand and he led you inside the Tardis, "Where are we going?" you asked him. "Some place where you'll remember me" he replied as he activated the controls. The Tardis then landed, "Here we are" he replied. "Where are we?" you asked the stranger. "The last place where I took you, the eye of Orion," he said as he stepped outside, and you followed him.

You followed him outside," I remember this place, the Doctor took me here once. So you are the Doctor," you said to him. the Doctor smiled at you. "Doctor is it you?" you asked him. "Yes, hello y/n" the Doctor greeted you. "I miss you," you said as you hugged him. "But how? the last time I saw you, you had black hair and were playing the recorder," you said to the Doctor. "Regeneration," the Doctor replied. "Regeneration?" you asked. "Yes, it's a process of renewing my life cycle, when I'm close to dying" the Doctor explained. "I see, so you've changed since the last time I saw you," you said. "Yes," the Doctor replied. "Is there something wrong?" he asked you. "No, nothing at all" you lied. "Y/n?" the Doctor said to you.

You turned to the Doctor, "Look, I don't know if I'm able to trust you after you left me" you replied. "Left you? I didn't y/n. You left of your own free will, don't you remember?" the Doctor said to you. "What?" you asked. "You said that you can't travel with me anymore, after all, the carnage you've seen you couldn't take it any longer. So you left and I never saw you again" the Doctor said. "But did you ever try finding me?" you asked him. "I did for a while, but I can't seem to find you. I've regenerated a couple of times and yet I'm not able to see you y/n" the Doctor said to you.

"Is that the truth?" you asked the Doctor. "Yes, I'm sorry that I didn't come any sooner. I did make a promise that I'll come back for you. Please forgive me" the Doctor said to you. "It's alright doctor, I forgive you," you reassured the Doctor. "You could travel with me again, but I won't force you if you don't want to," the Doctor said to you. "Oh, doctor I would love to," you said as you smiled at the Doctor. He then smiled back and both of you are off to a brand new adventures.

Heika van Walderveen: I had to get used to the style. It’s a lot of switching and getting back into the story of the characters. Also the different timelines were a bit confusing in the beginning. But once you’re used to it, it’s really quite original. The plot is good, but it’s only book 1 (out of 3), but so far so good...
