Chapter 1
From Steven's Point of View
I stare over at the girl that is my mate.
If I am honest, I have never even talked to her. I don't really talk to anyone.
I approach her slowly, "hey, I am Steven. And it turns out we are mated. So I was wondering if I could take you out on a date."
She smiles, "hey. I would like that."
I kiss the back of her hand softly, "can I get your name?"
She blushes a little, "I am Christina. It's a pleasure to meet you."
I stare at her, "after school?"
Her smile sends butterflies through my stomach. She is beautiful.
Her voice is smooth like silk, "that sounds great."
I meet her outside after school. I hadn't thought much of where we would go but with quick thinking I decide I will take her roller skating.
She laughs and mentions she's never been skating before.
I smile at her, "I will help you."
We go out to roller rink. We get skates and I kneel down to help her put them on.
I help her carefully, looking up at her.
I slip on mine and hold her hand as we step out on the skating area. She grips my arm softly.
I smile down at her, "hey it's okay."
I show her how to move her feet so she won't fall.
She stares up at me, still gripping my arm. I take her hand softly.
After a bit, she is skating okay, still holding onto my arm.
She laughs a little, "this is fun."
After we are done skating, I take her for ice cream.
I have had a great time.
She squeezes my hand as we are walking.
Some guys cat call her as we are walking, "hey little momma, come over her with me. Hey give us a smile sweetheart."
I tuck her behind me, "don't talk to her like that."
They make their way over, "come on share her with us. We promise to play nice."
I am not the biggest guy but I will punch them.
The one pat my shoulders, "come on. Don't do this little guy."
I punch the guy in the face, watching him stumble back.
Christina gasps, "don't Steven. They aren't worth it. Let's just go."
Him and his friends run off and I take Christina home. I stand on her porch and stare down at her.
I brush my fingers over my forehead, "I am sorry for punching that guy."
She gently stands on her tippy toes and kisses my cheek, "thank you for protecting me."
I run my fingers over where she kissed, "I don't understand how men behave like that. You were obviously with me. I would never understand the desire to talk to a woman like that. It doesn't win them over."
She rubs my hand, "do you want to come in?"
I blush a little, "it's kind of late."
She smiles at me, "I know. My dad will be in bed."
I understand what she is hinting at now.
I kiss her forehead, "oh, I am not really that kind of guy Christina."
She squeezes my arm, "no paying you back for taking me out?"
I look at her a little surprised, "your company was the payment. Kind of how dating works right, I get to look at your gorgeous face and I get to pay for our dates."
She looks surprised right back, "so you don't want to like have anal or a blow job?"
I stare down at her, "you aren't my object. I don't want you to feel like you have to put out because I took you out."
She brushes her fingers over my cheek, "then I will see you tomorrow. I had a great time Steven."
I head home and climb into bed. I fall asleep with images of Christina floating through my mind.
She is so beautiful.
When I wake up, I shower. I get dressed in some decent clothes and go over to Christina's place.
I knock on the door, waiting patiently.
The door opens and there stands a man.
He glares at me, "what do you want?"
I motion, "I am just here to walk Christina to school. I am her mate and I thought it would be nice to do that."
He puts finger on my chest, "listen, I know how you boys are and I know how desperate you are to get in girls' beds. But not my daughter. So get out of here."
Christina comes down the stairs, wearing a pretty floral dress, "daddy, he isn't a bad guy. Don't be mean to him."
He looks over at her, "I don't trust him Christina. Boys don't walk girls places anymore."
She steps outside with her bag, "he does daddy. I promise he is a good guy. He didn't let some douche bags disrespect me last night. He is different."
She motions between us, "Steven this is my father, Kenneth."
I shake his hand with good firm shake, "it's nice to meet you sir. I have nothing but pure intentions for your daughter."
She links arms with me as walk to school.
She skips a little, "this was a little surprising. You should have said you were going to come walk me to school. I would have been down stairs so daddy didn't give you a hard time."
I smile at her, "I just decided to this morning. But I will walk you to school for the rest of the days if you want."
She smiles at me, "I would love that Steven."
I open the door for her, further surprising her.
She looks at me, "you are different aren't you?"
I look at her, "women should be cherished. You don't need me to live a happy life. So for me to win you over I have to prove I deserve you."
