My room

I awoke to find a blue witch hat, wand, and other magical items staring at me from my brilliantly painted white dresser. I shook my head, thinking my mother had planned it for me. Yet, I never expected it to be so outrageous and mysterious; oh, it wasn’t Mom, but man, it was a ride…let me walk you through this freakish week I had lived. Hold on to your pants, or you may find them missing too. Hold on!

I will bring you back into my memories about a week ago on Tuesday morning, October 2nd. I knew this was a typical day, or so I thought. I took a deep breath in as I felt the cool crisp air filling my lungs from my window, which cracked open slightly. I loved that fresh air so early in the morning; it can be chilly but worth it. Back to what I was telling you… Oh, how rude of me. Pardon my distractions or flightiness, as some may call it.

I am Sarah Anne Kanter, ten years old, with red hair and green eyes. I know, so what a fiery redhead…Yeah, I have heard that my whole life. But, so you know a little about me, I have a younger brother who tends to live in front of his computer game system. You can hear him hollering at it; for what seems every minute of the day, either it being HEY, No!, Oh, you stupid thing… it is always some hoot, holler, or whine of his losing. On to my parents, well, they are a totally different story. My mom writes books, or so she tries. My dad works for an electrician who seems never to stop moving. Dad tends to get home late, and when he is home…well, let’s say his mind isn’t always on spending time with us kids.

My mom is extravagant in some fashions where she loves holidays and expressing herself, even in the simplest ways. She could just put a stuffed animal in a peculiar place and giggle to herself. I wonder what runs through her head when she does things like that. Is it an idea for a book or some other wacky idea that crossed her mind? I didn’t care much that she would do odd stuff, but I did mind when she would have one of her brilliant ideas- well, in her terms. Dinner was on the back burner until she figured something out regarding whatever the idea was. Well, back to tell you about what had happened to me.

Alright, where was I, ah…. I had awaked to find a blue witch hat, a wand, and a strange feather-looking snake thingy. Oh, my mom called it a boa, but isn’t a boa a snake? Some other little things were on the dresser, like a strange blue notebook and a crystal ball. I opened it and flipped through the pages, but it was empty. Not a single word was written in it, such as instructions or something. This all was too peculiar, with it happening not even at Halloween or any other remarkable holiday that these items would be used upon. I was building a bundle of irritation just looking at these items. Why were they here, in my room, and most of all…WHY mess up my dresser?? Yet, of course, no one thinks of that. Oh yeah, I have a tiny issue. I am a neat freak, not a big one… a right-sized one. I giggled.
