Not My Parents' Favorite

Mari comes from a family that has a high place in society. She is expected to hold herself in high regards as she is a member of the Worthington family, a prominent family in the community. She has goals she wants to accomplish by becoming a published author which is not acceptable according to her father’s plans.

Everyone admires the Worthington Family for their values, philanthropy and the dedication they have towards each other.

However, everything is not all what it seems behind closed doors.

Bryan Worthington, a prominent Black lawyer who widely known in the community demands his family abide by his rules should they live in the mansion. He’s already disowned, Vicki, his oldest daughter due to her not agreeing to an arranged marriage. And now he plans to arrange a marriage for Mari. Mari isn’t excited about who her Father has chosen for her to marry as he is definitely not interesting in being married to Mari.

Randall, Mari’s brother and the only other male in the family, has been living two lives unbeknownst to anyone yet both worlds start to entangle. His wife and kids are happy and satisfied but Randall isn’t and the Worthington trait runs differently with him, yet just the same. Randall has a significant other that is getting weary of waiting for Randall to own up to his promises. When Randall finds out that his sister is arranged to be married to someone from his past, he has no choice to be quiet as it would lead to secrets that he has kept for a long time, being told.

Randall’s wife, Marianna, pays enough attention to her husband to know when something is up and she is determined to get down to the bottom of it.

Angela Worthington, Bryan’s wife, knows her husband pretends to be more than he is and she knows of his extra-curricular activities. But she’s been taking care of her own activities, therefore she’s not complaining.

Mari decides to write a book about a fictional family which is gaining attention due to the resemblance to her own family. She intends on exposing the truths of her Father even if she’s removed from the family.

Family secrets start to unfold as a book is published online touting Mr. Worthington’s infidelity.

Instantly Mari is blamed, but she isn’t the one who spilled the beans. She has no idea who has been leaking family secrets that she didn’t even know. Vicki remembers an incident from her past that she thinks maybe the missing piece. Vicki reaches out to get help to find someone that has been lost for so long and needs to be found.
