In the not so past past

I walked among the dark late at night with fear, this fear was not of the dark nor of the strangers that follow me in the dark of which I cannot see. The thing i fear is much worse than what others may believe, for I dont want to go home., no I do not care what happens out here where i can not be found. As when I go home my husband will be waiting, angrily pacing, ready to ask me where ive been and when I’ll make something and he’ll be ready to hit me no matter my response… no I wont even get that far.

I walk into my house I’m greeted with a slap to the face.

“YOU STUPID WHORE!” He said. Though I’ve heard this so much I dont care. I stare at him waiting for his next move. He grabs me by my hair and drags me to the kitchen. He wants me to cook for him, maybe I could poison his food?, No, that would be immoral, as much as he deserves it.

I remember back when i was little, oh the fun i had. My friends and I couldn’t wait for the future, I wonder how they are now. Ever sense i was forced to marry this cunt I have had no contact with the outside world other than the job I work at. Nothing I want I ever get. What did I do to deserve this? I smell somthing… oh shit ive burned the food! My husband rushes in and starts yelling at me, I dont make out his nonsense. He then pushes my head into the burnt food on the still hot stove and yells more. I sid on the floor crying, bleeding, burnt. I can’t hear nor speak, dosn’t matter as I cant do shit. He hits me over the head and then I can’t remember what happened next.

I lanch awake to my alarm and rush to get dressed, looking in the mirror I relize I need to bandage my face. I look in the cobbered nothing, under the sink, nothing. It seems we’re out. I end up useing toilet paper and tape over the srea and rush to work. I need to be out before he wakes up. I could probably win if I fought him but he’s my only hope of a ‘normal’ life at this point.

Work is as annoying as usual, karen, asshole, decent person, almost getting fired, repeat. A few minutes before I leave a familiar face walks in. A girl around my age and highet with long black hair, stunning blue narrow eyes, strong but kind deminor, in a plether jacket and jeans.

In the nicest voice she asked, “Do I know you?”

Thats when I relized.… I knew this person, quite well…

Shawna: I really enjoying reading this book, I read it twice back to back just in case I missed something lol. Mira & Devryan are actually perfectly fit one another, even when they tried to deny it. You could tell that he wanted her, human or mystic, he was just scared to admit it to himself. She was scared...

Ku_Rolet: The novel was good, and I really enjoyed reading it. I love the leads and their bond, but I have one question that confused me.
